Wow. Speedy online UK #passport renewal. Once I'd figured out I was never going to take my own digital photo that would meet the requirements, and got it done properly. Sent the old one back 2nd class and got the new one within a week, using the standard service.

Nigel Farage has said he's “not making any money as a result of being an MP”.

MP's salary is £94k, putting him in the top 5% of earners.

Meanwhile he votes to keep workers on exploitative zero-hours contracts and denies them sick pay.

Don’t know about you but not sure I want a computer illiterate ‘oddball’ anywhere near power in the UK and let alone someone who can’t follow the rules with his finances.

Who paid for his house????

Bizarre that lowkey Romford MP Andrew Rosindell mentions Chagos as the key reason for joining Farage and then Farage's great mate in the White House mentions it the next day... #r4today

This is fascinating. Younger people are more optimistic about the economy because they have some faith in the new government’s efforts after years of right wing mismanagement. Older people, indoctrinated by right wing propaganda are actively holding back growth.

Why is Robert Jenrick called 'Honest Bob', you ask?
It was coined by John Crace after Jenrick overruled an objection to ex pornographer and ex publisher Richard Desmond's property development saving Desmond £40m and coinciding with a donation of £12,000 to the Tories.

For non-German speakers:

“Dear media, I can’t stand the headline "No agreement between the US and Denmark” any longer. If an armed man storms a bank, you don't run the headline: "Robber and cashier can't reach an agreement on money transfer." Stop framing imperial aggression as normal diplomacy.”

Musings: Maybe #Jenrick will fall out with #Farage and form the 'Newark and Bingham First' party, like Rupert Lowe's 'Great Yarmouth First' party. Or maybe he will trounce Farage and he'll then form the 'Clacton Last' party

A number of people on this platform have been claiming that it's not up to government to shorten people's time on remand, however far beyond the statutory limit that time extends.
Well, take it from a very eminent retired judge. It is.

Every week the evidence piles up that London is safer than it has been for decades. The far right lies are constantly exposed. The migration figures are down by well over 400k against last year. The Reform Councils are failing to deliver. I’m not sure there’s much left for them to campaign on.

Hmm. No urge to cry in #Hamnet. I thought it a bit hackneyed in parts, with some missed opportunities to relate the play to their lives in more subtle ways. Over the top ending reminded me of Life of Brian. Well acted though and visually appealing. If only Hilary Mantel was still around.

If your MP is on BlueSky, do feel free to tag them.

Remaining on X, a platform which that allows for the mass manufacturing of non-consensual sexual images of women and minors, is no longer endorsement.

The government needs to leave it.

Now.
Staying on X is an Endorsement - and It's Unforgivable
The UK government cannot claim to protect women and children while continuing to post on a platform that enables their abuse.
