I could tell they were preparing us for this for the past couple weeks - the statement, Kerry Wood throwing out the first pitch and singing in the Ryno jersey - but Jesus Christ, this hurts like almost nothing else. He was my mom's favorite. We loved him. She's gone. And now he is too.

It's not that I think it's ugly. I do, but reasonable people can disagree on that. It's the CHEAPNESS of it that I can't handle. If Dollar General sold wedding dresses this is exactly what they'd look like.

Canada has a VERY TEMPORARY legal situation allowing anyone with provable CA ancestry to claim Canadian citizenship w/ no generational limit. It may be overruled, but it’s real now. Colin and I both have French Québécois ancestors so you bet yer ass that I’m doing a LOT of rush document requests now
