OK I'm starting to wonder if hes actually lost touch with reality. lying about the debt is one this. Those are numbers on screens. But now hes promising $2000 to people? The US already has a $1.7 trillion deficit this year.

Temporary withdrawal of ambassador while the embassy is still operating under a Charge de Affairs is what happens when you have a minor diplomatic skirmish. They should have said nothing at all.
