Eleanor Holmes Norton up until even just five years ago was a powerful lion who told you what she wanted and now! (Can you tell we’ve me lol.)

Yet, like too many Democrats in Congress, she waited so long to retire that she leaves with a whimper.

No statement, only a campaign filing of termination.
Eleanor Holmes Norton won’t seek reelection as DC delegate
The 88-year-old Democrat had been facing mounting calls to step down.

Bet people complained when kids use to books tried to turn the page of an old scroll or a stone tablet. 🤣

When people ask me do I miss DC, I say sometimes but not the DC of today. Not this.
This is what Trump's ICE Gestapo does on their day off.

They just switch costumes.

The White Nationalist Patriot Front was at the National Mall on Friday.

Like all good Nazis, their response to protestors was, "Are you Jewish?"

15 years ago I borrowed a bulletproof vest from a reporter so I could report from a war zone. I held onto it after I returned.

Last week the reporter finally asked for it back because he is headed to Minneapolis.

“Tragically, more bloodshed is almost certain to follow. 2026 is likely to be a year of dangerous unrest in America.”

In the wake of a CBP agent’s killing of VA nurse Alex Petti, it’s clear that halfway measures, aggrieved speeches, and strongly worded letters are no longer adequate.

It’s very hard economically speaking for an American to have a child before 40 today.

Add to that it gets harder for both men and women to physically have children after 40 and well, now we might start understanding why births are declining so much in this country.

Notice that for Trump’s playbook to work, he’s counting on police and guard units to not protect civilians.

It also assumes protestors are unarmed. And that thy are unwilling to defend their lives (which is their inalienable right).

Aka: Trump is a bully, he’s got no strategy if he’s stood up to.
Trump’s playbook is becoming clear:

Send in ICE, target public at random, kill civilians.

DOJ harasses widows.

Amid public outcry, local officials call for calm (because order to politicians matters more than human life).

Claim officials incite insurrection. Use as excuse for more violence.

As a Tesla owner, I was already highly unlikely to ever buy another Tesla.

But killing what it calls autopilot steering (just basic lane following on the highway) for new cars means I’ll never get another Tesla. The idea such a minor but essential feature should be $99 a month is outrageous.

A look at the importance of a 200 reporter strong newspaper covering a crisis and the hard work The Minnesota Star is doing.

Of course, it’s concerning to find the paper discussing DHS becoming more responsive to them. They must be careful not to be used as a regime misinformation mouthpiece.

South Florida Muslim Federation slandered with alleged claims of anti semitism.

If it smells like Islamophobia it likely is Islamophobia.

Given the genocide committed against ethnic Palestinians in Gaza, it’s even more shocking to see such hate directed at Muslim Americans.

Now FIU campus police are a danger to students.

School security should be unarmed and not designed to carry out police work. The idea they will help ICE is insanity.

Nothing delegitimatizes the Iranian uprisings like the disgraced former dictator’s son trying to take power.

The Iranian people are the decadents of the Persian empire. They can handle leading themselves and don’t need any help from a random nepo baby.

A blockade is an act of war.

Trump wants to lash out at a nation that is not a threat to the U.S. that has long struggled with an unjust embargo.

The only threat Cuba poses is its mere existence is a threat to capitalism.
