This is terribly sad for me. I’m lucky i have some great fabric shops local to me, but none of them have all the “boring” things I need that I could get at Joann. Dang. www.ksl.com/article/5126...
Retailer Joann to go out of business and close all of its stores
Fabric and crafts retailer Joann Inc., which has been a destination for generations of quilters, knitters and other lovers of crafts for more than 80 years, is going out of business and shuttering all...

I started calling my kids “chicken noodle” and “chicken pot pie” for reasons unknown even to me but it is fitting. Sometimes “chicken Parmesan” even 😂
three-year-old looked at his infant sister this morning and exclaimed, "hello my little pasta noodle!"

I’ve been taking a break from this place. Overwhelmed and outraged by all that’s happening in America but I have two small kids to take care of so I don’t have much time for those feelings or anything else at present. I have been managing to start seeds and that is bringing lots of joy 🌱

The 3 yo wanted to use the toilet in our primary bathroom so I said “by all means.” He ran away and came back a minute later holding the potty insert up to frame his face as he walked into the bathroom. So disgusting 😝😂

This morning I opened the blinds & said “it’s getting brighter every morning😃” & I turned & the 6yo was crying! Me: “omg what’s going on?” He says “I’m just sad that it’s getting brighter b/c that means summer is coming & I won’t get to ski”who ever heard of a kid that was sad summer was on its way?

After the sticker shock for the price of redoing our patio, I’m trying to imagine a new (cheaper) design and man is it sad. I wish not everything was a jillion bucks.

I sowed a bunch of seeds last week and woke up to my first 4 little seedlings today. Always stunned when what looks like dust turns into something green and beautiful. The miracle of life and science, etc. and all the good feels about that!!

Just got back a couple of bids to replace my (cracked, settling) cement patio with pavers 💸x♾️

Did you know you can buy a cocktail shrimp party platter and eat it for lunch? There are no rules about it! I bought it just for myself since it interests no one else at my house. Got 40 shrimp for $9 just for me and now I have a healthy lunch for 2 or 3 days.

This was about an early Pilates class. The dumbest thing for my brain to stress about.
I have literally never slept through my alarm but as soon as I have something a little early in the morning, my brain stresses subconsciously all night long that I might miss it and I end up having a terrible night of sleep. Posted at 12:40am. Why am I like thissss?!

Best James Bond Title Song should be a Grammy category and we should get multiple artists a year releasing Bond songs, even if no movie has come out.

It’s so surreal to be a citizen in a country that has so many policies & practices I disagree with. And I think especially in this day and age where I have not only the world’s information at my fingertips, but also friends and acquaintances and many people I follow from across the entire globe. 1/

One of my fave quilts I’ve ever made… & I gave it away as a gift 😢😂 I made this in 2021. I used a quilt I saw online for inspo — I can’t remember 100%, but I believe it was one of Sarah’s quilts (@ sarah_made on insta.) SUCH a cute quilt 🍓

I’m a squarely intermediate skier & this kicked my trash today. Powder is a very different experience than what I’m used to!! I was too stressed to have fun but I’m glad I went 😅

Listening to an Apple Music playlist this AM… I’m sitting here thinking how great the playlist is because I LOVE every song. Check the playlist name and it’s “My Favorites” 🤦‍♀️😂

AI is such a thief of joy! If I used AI for bedtime stories, my kids wouldn’t have Giant the Tiny Elephant, or K963 the imperial droid with a heart of gold, or Achilles from the Toe-jam wars who only eats the lint between their toes, or Eddie the Eagle who explores USA National Parks, etc etc etc.
I have heard "coming up with bedtime stories" as a use-case for AI several times now from several different people. Do none of you know about BOOKS?
“Meta Al will start to give you answers based on what preferences and information you've shared. For example, it's helped me come up with creative bedtime stories for my daughters, so if l ask it for a new one, it remembers they love mermaids.”

Thanks Mark, incredibly grim stuff

I made this baby quilt in 2018. I was pretty new to quilting at the time & finding fabric I liked was overwhelming. I knew about spoonflower and went there to find patterns in colorways I liked. I couldn’t find a train pattern I liked so I drew one in MS Paint and had spoonflower print it! #Quiltsky
