The entire thread is a joy:
Today is National Biscuit Day, and it’s about time that I populated this account with biscuit (cookie) sets from the past few years. Here are some of my favourites. 🧵

First up, a set inspired by the delicious designs of William Morris and John Henry Dearle.

I don’t know how to tell you this, but White House is completely disengaged from major trading partners EU, Canada and China as it stunts with the UK. Just wasting time as the US transportation, tourism and retail industries hurtle towards the June brick wall.

I can't watch or listen to the whole thing -- skip to the comments --- priceless
This exchange is so very telling.

Trump repeatedly claims the photoshopped MS-13 on Kilmar Abrego Garcia's knuckles is real, Terry Moran keeps telling him it isn't, prompting Trump to say this:

"I never heard of you. I picked you. You’re not being very nice. He had MS-13 tattooed... Just say yes!"

"because Canada has momentarily imported two-party, tribal politics from America into their multi-party parliamentary democracy" Worth while read.
Media forecasts what will happen, all the time, by way of manufacturing consent.

Notice Ford quoted as being eloquent and insightful (🤣), up against a quote from his friend, Freeland.

Author suggests Ford could be US Ambassador, and his humble, demure response. 🤣

This method guarantees that no deals are made for at least 60 days. It forces six countries in each group into dozens of interlocking bilateral and trilateral talks. Dark chaos.

"April is the cruelest month" May will be worse.
This is the key to the whole mess. Bessent and Trump are hardened flim flam men. They have fed investors enough hope to prevent markets from forcing them to back down. Frontrunning has kept retail biz humming. So now we slam into brick wall on second week of May.

And how will Canadian American “negotiations” proceed under Tributary Procedures at Mar-a-Lago?
As more details about the US-Japan trade talks emerge, I think we're seeing what it looks like when the Trump administration tries to achieve a Mar-a-Lago accord-style deal with an ally.
