After the latest killing on the streets of Minneapolis by masked federal agents, it has become clearer than ever that ICE is operating completely outside the law. This agency as it exists and operates cannot continue. ICE must be abolished.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Our neighbors, friends, coworkers, and community members came out today in freezing temperatures to make it clear: the call to abolish ICE will not be frozen out. Thank you to everyone who came out for your strength and resilience— you proved that we will not back down.

The killing of Renee Good by an ICE agent is an affront to human decency and American values. Today Young Democrats rallied in Albany, demanding accountability at a joint NYS Senate & Assembly event with Senator Pat Fahy and Assemblymember Gabriella Romero. We won’t rest until justice is served.
