#INTERACT

Finally, we tested several #sampling efforts to find out the best sampling strategy in order to reflect #intraindividual variability in population and community trait-based studies. Generally, accounting for several #ramets per clone emerged as the best strategy.

We also explored the potential environmental causes of #intraindividual variability across species. We found little relationship with local #climatic variables except for SLA. Most likely, microclimate is playing a role here.

Within each species, we found very large values of #intraindividual variability. Sometimes, the variability within the individual reached, by far, greater values than the variability across #genotypes or #populations.

We found that a significant amount of variability occurred within the individual (both between and within #ramets of the same genetic individual) when looking across species

Already home after a wonderful #ITEX meeting with lots of inspiring talks and conversations.
Thanks a lot to the Gothenburg organising crew, and to all the people that made it possible!
Excited to welcome a passionate group of Arctic scientists to the 22nd International Tundra Experiment (ITEX) meeting at Nordens Ark, on Sweden’s stunning west coast!

Muchas gracias Carlos!!
This study documents extensive intraindividual trait variability (variability among repeated units within an individual) within clonal plants for both size-architectural and leaf traits (up to 100% of total). Congrats to @albaanadon.bsky.social and co-authors !
