#Ecosystems
There's nothing inherently wrong with climate change. It's just that the ecosystems and built environments that we depend on as life support systems aren't equipped to handle the rapid changes. So if we want to live, we should deal with climate change ASAP.

please learn about your local ecosystems. please. its so sad and strange to me how many people live in a place and learn nothing about the land that surrounds them and the ways in which that land has grown and changed and flourished for hundreds of years before your town even existed

A serious problem with the fragmentation of our walled information ecosystems is that it has become much more difficult to gauge when stories/issues have 'cut through' and reached a large number of voters - and what their (unfiltered) reaction has been.

'Our oceans and forests are deeply connected...'

This looks like an amazing new project - No Trees, No Seas - which aims to restore coastal & riparian woodland to cool rivers, boost salmon numbers & restore missing ecosystems

Did u know? This is one of the most important organisms on earth - moss. It's amazing what it does to maintain healthy ecosystems. It minimises soil erosion; captures carbon; harbours tiny souls in its unique habitat & filters & purifies water & air in its dense structure - make room for moss. 🌱🌿🇬🇧🌱🌍🦠

1/ More than 600km above 🌏, NASA's PACE (standing for Plankton, Aerosol, Cloud, Ecosystem) satellite is in a polar orbit. Covering the globe in about two days, it gathers data on ocean colour, aerosols, and clouds enabling the study of climate change and ocean ecosystems.

🧸says good luck 💜🥳✌🏻

in korea rn, its time for college entrance exams (kinda like the SATs meets hunger games - it's taken at least 1000X more seriously by not only the students but their families/ecosystems)

Cheers to everyone trying really hard to do something well!

It's a real shame because Swamps are just, so full of life??? They're super rich and active ecosystems. One of Magic's many, many misses imo.

I guess it's thrilling to imagine oneself to be part of a mad chase to the creation of artificial life. But it's not just fun and games when that chase is being used to concentrate wealth & power and involves despoiling the physical & information ecosystems + massive labor exploitation.

I think there are regenerative agriculture practices for like using beef cattle in ecosystems that used to rely on bison, but that’s pretty limited and should make beef like $25/lb
November 11, 2025 at 3:21 AM
Kinda makes ya wish there was some large, delicious bovine endemic to these lands that supported our ecosystems instead of destroying them. 🤔

🤷 Guess we better just keep producing beef and telling people not to eat it.
Producing a pound of beef requires roughly 1,800 gallons of water compared with 500 gallons for chicken. Even modest shifts in your diet could sig nificantly reduce the water needed to grow your food. buff.ly/TpENcde
2 ways you can conserve the water used to make your food
Consumer choices about what to eat and how much of it can affect how much water farmers need to use.

A shame it's being tested like this, but a forceful reminder that restoring nature, preserving clean, thriving ecosystems is also ensuring we have something to fall back on during tough times:

The government froze food aid. Tribes are thawing old traditions.
Decades of work to rebuild traditional food systems are paying off, but droughts and funding cuts threaten to unravel the progress.
