It’s probably time to start thinking of a memorial to all the people who have killed by ICE on the streets and in detention. And those whose lives were disrupted and changed when ICE kidnapped and detained them. Including folks this happens to in the future.

Boycotting the World Cup seems like the obvious move. Not only protects athletes from humiliation and worse at borders, but also repudiates the FIFA Piece prize. Olympics too.
I genuinely think boycotting the World Cup is some of the strongest leverage the Europeans have.

There were, literally, a handful of Thai restaurants in the United States before the law was passed. There were none in LA in 1970 when I returned from Thailand where I’d been a Peace Corps volunteer! Imagine life today without Thai food. One of millions of benefits of that law.
Finally had a chance to read this Incredible piece by @gregsargent.bsky.social that documents Miller’s attempt to undo and reverse the 1965 immigration settlement and reveals how central this effort is to the administration’s reactionary aim to take down the New Deal and civil rights orders.
