It's funny to see so many voices at the Telegraph raging about BBC's standards. In March 2024 they covered my interview with NYT publisher AG Sulzberger, but they presented it as an interview with his father. They even included a picture of the old man in the piece. The error is still there

Michael Prescott and Sir Robbie Gibb both bailed out of journalism years ago, and enjoy lucrative careers in corporate PR. And now they are the arbiters of BBC editorial standards. Go figure www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/...

It is the BBC’s entire governance structure–rather than individual stories–that should cause most concern

This story is NUTS. A southern sheriff celebrated as a folk hero (and memorialized in the Walking Tall movies) almost certainly murdered his wife, faked his own shooting, then blamed it all on an ambush by the "Dixie Mafia" he was investigating.
His fans today refuse to believe it—or don't care!

Stunning story by @jesspish.bsky.social: He became the most famous sheriff in the U.S. after his hunt for his wife's "real killers" inspired a $60 million 1973 blockbuster ($430 million in today dollars). It was all a lie and his hometown can't deal.

A tale I must tell today on my late mother, and in doing so, I mean no actual disrespect to the Cheney family, grieving as they are for the actual loss of their loved one. The humor that follows is that of the Simon family's dark and dystropic sense of humor and so, an apology in advance.
