Economist John Maynard Keynes wrote hopefully of “Economic Possibilities for our Grandchildren” in 1930:

“The love of money as a possession—as distinguished from the love of money as a means to the enjoyments and realities of life—will be recognised for what it is, a somewhat disgusting morbidity…”

Yes! Thank you if you regularly post gift articles when you think those articles are vital and should be read, particularly articles from NYT, WSJ, Economist. Many of us have limited $ for subscriptions. My $ goes to independent news producers.
I want to thank everyone who posts gift articles of really important stories that all Americans should read but are behind paywalls so most can’t.

There are some stories that are so important to the public interest that media companies should remove paywalls on some occasions.

Kash Patel, a podcaster selected because of his fierce loyalty to the President, told FBI agents not to investigate the details on Renee Good's shooting because it would contradict the President. Fact matter less than the King's opinion in a personalist regime.

VA Gov. Spanberger (moderate, was in CIA) and NYC Mayor Mamdani (left, is in DSA) both taking steps to block local law enforcement from helping ICE as it violently violates people's rights is a good example of how the relevant divide in the Dem coalition isn't center-left, it's fight-don't fight.

I think this may be a tremendously important finding. Personal note: I started taking statins in 2006, post heart attack. I continue to take a daily dose of a statin (I have also changed my diet) and have had no side effects. My lipid numbers and my heart disease are well controlled.
“What we found is there’s no significant excess risk with statins for almost all the conditions listed in statin packaging as potential side effects… We now have really good evidence that although these things may well happen to people while they take statins, that statins are not the cause”
Statins don’t cause most of the side effects on package warnings, study finds
Many people who should be taking statins avoid them for fear of side effects. A large new study says most of those side effects don't actually show up.

Krugman: "MAGA will try, somehow, to prevent voters from having their say. Will ICE try to prevent blue districts from voting? If that fails, will they reject the results?... Remember: The alarmists have been right, and the people telling us to calm down have been wrong, every step of the way."
