This prefigures the vote they will have in December -- if they even choose to bring the bill to the floor. They may not. Their promises are worth nothing.
UPDATE: The Senate votes 53-47 to shoot down the Baldwin amendment to extend ACA funds for 1 year. A party-line vote with every Republican rejecting it.
An important vote in this series: Tammy Baldwin’s proposal to extend ACA expiring funds for 1 year. It’s structured as a motion to table (i.e. scrap it from the amendment tree). But it’ll show the appetite (or lack thereof) in the Senate to address this issue.

According to ex-mayor Greg Nickels, Seattle's mayoral election could be decided by 65 votes
Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell went to bed Thursday night with a comfortable lead. By Friday afternoon, that all changed. Katie Wilson has surged to within 4,300 votes.

Dedicated anti-vaxxers won't care about this, but for those of us who prefer scientific evidence, it's of value.
A study with data from ~14 million children shows that COVID19 infection is significantly more harmful to kids’ hearts than the vaccine.

Marty Makary falsely alleged that “children died” because from COVID19 vaccine. Whomever told him that failed to account for SARS-CoV-2 infections.

"A key development that appeared to break the logjam in the negotiations was that Senate Republicans proposed that some healthcare funding be provided directly to households rather than be used to pay for a one-year extension of enhanced ACA subsidies."

This is a terrible idea.

I tried to call my Senators (Schiff, Padilla) to urge them to hold the line on the shutdown. Padilla's line is not accepting VM and Schiff's is full. I believe they will not cave -- but I've been wrong before, and they need to know that their voters are watching.

HOLD THE LINE.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

We knew this, of course. But it's useful to have it in print. Thanks, Lindsey.
At least they FINALLY admitted why they refused to negotiate on the shutdown. First they lied and promised Dems they would “negotiate” this, but only AFTER they voted for the CR. But Dems were correct when they assessed that Republicans NEVER intended to extend these subsidies.

Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice.

It doesn't have to be this way.
