silly facts learned about python this morning

1. heapq methods don't seem to actually be methods - I have no idea exactly why

2. you can frivolously just heappush tuples with random stuff in them and it _just works_?

3. math.hypot does euclidean distance

there's a big problem with the culture here on bluesky, and it's that not nearly enough people are posting about the 10 year anniversary of Carly Rae Jepsen's groundbreaking and timeless album EMOTION being this year and how awesome that is

i finally figured out why safari doesn’t do bold properly - it’s been font-synthesis this whole time!

remaining question - why does safari need to do any of that when i have a variable font ready for it

On behalf of Piotr

It is with great sadness that I inform of the passing of Piotr on July 29th, after his long fight with cancer. He was a great man, great engineer, a wonderful husband, father, brother and son. A dedicated Ruby community member. He will be sincerely missed

I used the Arduino X25519 library and PQClean's ML-KEM-768

@durumcrustulum.com XWING is a KEM itself right? even though it's already composed of a KEM and the X25519 DH function
July 20, 2025 at 6:20 PM
@durumcrustulum.com

XWingLabel = concat(
"\./",
"/^\",
)

is sooooo cute! did you come up with it?
July 3, 2025 at 4:23 AM
@durumcrustulum.com Is there a canonical way to use ML-KEM and X25519 in a hybrid scheme? I was poking around and found a proposal for TLS1.3 to use them that way, but it seems like it was expired
