Over the last 3 days I’ve had the honour and privilege to attend Neegani-Iishawin in Thunder Bay to learn more about the exciting economic development opportunities being led by First Nations communities in Northern Ontario (some of which might include bioeconomies like forestry). Chi Miigwetch!!

I co-authored a paper assessing the impacts of afforestation on LAI and Fcover in Ontario, Canada. Check it out!

Assessing the impact of afforestation on forest vegetation structure using fraction of vegetation cover and leaf area index indicators from harmonized Landsat and Sentinel-2 imagery
Reliable regional monitoring of afforested sites is hampered by the cost of in-situ surveys and limitations of land-cover mapping for assessing canopy…

First submission to a game jam. Second ever game. It's super rough, but I'm high key super proud of myself to even get it to this point considering I made everything from scratch in one month.

Recently finished a side project where I simulated a stable 3-tier ‘ecosystem’ of plants, herbivores and carnivores in pygame. Herbivores eat plants and carnivores eat herbivores in stable phases, in line with Lotka Voterra equations, but with added spatiality. You can read about it on my GitHub

I’ve been making an ecological management sim (a non game game if you will) in pygame and I gotta say, I’m having a blast, but it’s clearly a masochistic black hole endeavour and I should really just stop and get back to working on music…
