Whenever I need cheering up I watch the bit in his show when he takes a flying lesson and walks to a plane with a guy - both thinking the other is the instructor. Typical Arthur!

Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.

I didn't have the word count in this post but what I actually mean is not just "bought". I also mean "borrowed from the library" or "spread the word about these books, in even a small way". All of that has been a vital part of the fight. A collective fuck you to people who take advantage of artists.
At the beginning of the year I had to face up to the fact my ex-publishers were imploding & would never pay me what they owed me for the 7 books I wrote for them.
It's been a battle.
There's still a lot of repair work to be done.
Bluesky has helped.
