Writer. Creative. Social Butterfly.
This.
Hence my #NoRegerts policy with Bonkpocalypse
Here’s why you shouldn’t pull your punches as a writer:

A big part of the appeal of a book is how dedicated the author is to their idea.

That crackling energy only comes from compulsion, the true driver of creativity.

Restrain it at your own peril.

Jeez. Lost the password to this place. Did I miss anything interesting?

I, uh, like to do things after hours? Sort of a habitual night owl. Night time 🎶 is the right time 🎶
Explain your username:

I needed a username for social media type accounts that wasn't linked to my normal username. I was playing a lot of WoW at the time, and Fish Feast was a food item. So I just chose it at random. Now, I use FishFeast for pretty much everything online.

So yeah, no meaning 🤷‍♂️
Explain your username:

I'm an accessibility first developer, a quadriplegic, and my late girlfriend called me her dolly princess.

So. Accessible Quad Dolly 😋

Writing is everything all at once.
Writing is an act of rebellion.
Writing is an act of creation.
Writing is an act of salvation.
Writing is an act of exploration.
Writing is an act of emotion.
Writing is an act of confession.
Writing is an act of speculation.
Writing is an act of reflection.
Keep writing.

I’m back. BSKY kicked me off and I had to forage for my password. Then I remembered that my shmartphone remembered. Pepperidge Farm Remembers, too.

Word.
I love the bluesky culture of blocking assholes without engaging. Refreshing to just yeet people into mental oblivion and never giving them a nanosecond of thought, and knowing this decision is not only acceptable, but applauded.

I also made a tinfoil straight-jacket as an accessory.
Make yourself a tin foil hat, and yes, I spent way too much time on this.

Now we really have Blue Sky.
Okay, y’all… I have finally decided that retreat is the better part of valor. Bringing some rainbow energy over to these blue skies.

I’ve read it multiple times. But I’m weird, so …
"Best advertising" in the way waffle house is the best food at 2am on a random Wednesday after drinking gallons of Zima with people you met in line for Primus tickets
Do you want a book that has the best advertising this side of the Oort Cloud? May I recommend Red Darkling by @laguettler.bsky.social? Very few books take turns for the worst when things go well. And yet...

We hashed this out years ago, didn’t we?
A couple of you have asked what length an SF novel should be. Here are SFWA's guidelines for the Nebula Awards:

1. Novel: Over 40,000 words
2. Novella: 17,500 - 40,000 words
3. Novelette: 7,500 - 17,500 words
4. Short story: Under 7,500 words

Hope that helps.
