Had a jolly fun time at the Scarred for Life: A folk horror special show in ARC Stockton On Tees last night, featuring @bobfischer.bsky.social (on the right) and Stephen Brotherstone (on the left).

One of the best debates I've seen on the ethics of using AI in the creative arts.

I shook hands with Dirk Benedict today. I really wish I had more time with him. He was still full of charisma. Some people just have it.

Just catching the end of this now, but it's another absolute cracker from Mulgrave. Stitched together with obvious love and packing a particular emotional wallop for we increasingly tatty-looking children of the 1970s.
Thu 1st May, 7.30pm - A one-off free Listening Party for our next @mulgraveaudio.bsky.social play, Patchwuff. Starring Valerie Singleton with music from Bagpuss' friend, Sandra Kerr! All the Mulgrave team will be chatting in a little window. Join us...

I've been away from the Adventuron world for a little while and recently revisited the forums. Feels good to see comments like this happening organically without solicitation however I know Adventuron can be a lot better, and a lot easier to use.

Is it possible to actually drown in nostalgia? Has it always been this way in middle age, or is the internet making is more chronic over time?

A lot of tiresome incomprehensible nonsense gets talked about 'folk horror' these days, which is why I really enjoyed this chat with @bobfischer.bsky.social about the phenomenon in its purest past-versus-present form - ITV's 1969 adaptation of The Owl Service.

Forty years ago today. A live reading to round the year off! A lot of ZX Spectrum programming, capped off by me, my parents, my gran and the dogs all watching Singing In The Rain until the wee hours in a little warm bubble of family and love. All the best for 1985, everyone.

I have been grading my students text adventure games they made in Adventuron @adventuron.bsky.social I was blown away, they were really creative. They are middle school and many of them have never coded before, it was a struggle for them. No, they're not perfect, but I find them amazing!
