i still stand by this philosophy, even if the "problem solving" in question is "how do i get these ideas out of my head without anything short of splitting my skull open"
probably one of the biggest things i learned from uni is that most, if not all art, id problem solving

My favorite part of LLMs has been watching a bunch of people who claim they can "now make art" use them for two weeks to make some drivel that sucks, realize what they're doing sucks, and then silently stop.
And the constant barrage of people doing this drowns out the people who ARE making art.

agreed with this thread and i'd like to add that tracing and other forms of image transfer are also crucial to certain forms of art, such as printmaking. on my last linocut, i spent hours choosing my lines before i carved.
I'd argue btw the whole 'never trace or use refs' thing is a pretty good example of Dunning-Kruger in full swing, especially if it comes from clients.
