My main interest is the Sengoku-Jidai, specifically the period around 1540-1590. I play miniatures games in the period from large battles in 6mm down to small skirmishes in 28mm.
Great goal from Malard. She's not one to duck the big games.

Museum model of Nagoya castle. Constructed in 1612, so really post-Sengoku Jidai. But everyone still uses this type of castle in wargames, and they do look impressive.

More 'The Silver Bayonet' in Japan. Bakufu yōkai investigators are on the trail of a metsuke who disappeared in a village which appears to be abandoned...

Switch on the cricket and Nikesh Rughani is talking about food as usual. Dread the day he's on commentary with Dan Norcross and they spend an hour talking about the lunches at Surrey.

10mm AWI at the club tonight. All is peaceful on the shores of the Potomac. Until the British turn up to crack down on the crime wave that isn't happening there.

Thought I'd let the dog decide where we went for his walk today. He didn't have a clue what he was doing or where he was going, but steadfastly refused to listen to any advice to change direction. In the end it took an intervention just to get us back where we started.

It was like walking Liz Truss

It's the Madison at the world cycling champs. Reassuring that the commentators don't seem to know what's going on either.

As a British person I can only approve of smashing up the White House. Party like it's 1814.

Fun fact: Cnut is the patron saint of spellcheckers.
The Battle of Assundun at our club open day using #Midgard. My Danes under Cnut were completely slaughtered.

I guess the title of Duke of York will revert to the Mortimers now. Quite right too. Who is the current Mortimer heir? Bob is it?
