It's best to go through life assuming friends and family have never read a single thing you've written and never will, any more than you have engaged with what they do for a living
one of our big AWP tips is to not corner acquaintances into telling you whether they've read your book or not: either you're going to hate the answer or they're going to resent being forced to talk about it. Let them bring it up. Or not.

My kid recently told me that she wears this shirt every time she knows her class is going to the library and now I kinda love how worn to hell it is.

Little reminder that I have a 63-page, book-length poem made from an erasure of the novelization of Ang Lee's HULK if any amazing press wants to take a chance on this absolute weirdness...

Loved the hell out of this one by @badguybirnie.bsky.social! It’s clever and creepy and funny and gritty in all the best ways.
This wasn’t a case of my imagination running wild. Wasn’t a case of brains fried, tripping out on futures past. This was real, goddamnit. Whatever it was.

My kid's gotten really into cool ranch Doritos while we've been snowed in, which could be good or bad (probably, definitely bad) but is certainly on brand for what I'm able to accomplish at the moment

Man oh man what I would give for a boring, plain old snow day without remote work and my kid's virtual instruction (i.e. someone save me 🫠)

I will be another voice to say, I have watched the video and you do not need to watch it unless you doubt what is being said.

There is no ambiguity.

Agents dogpile a person, he is on the ground, one of them starts clubbing with a pistol and then fires repeatedly. Even after the body is still.

You are complicit. This is the gestapo. You're on the wrong side. You can't pretend not to know.

My six-year-old asked me tonight if TVs had been invented when my wife and I started dating, a question she will pay for by carrying a 32” CRT TV up and down the stairs like Sisyphus.
