🧵 It’s 🏳️‍🌈LGBT+ History month in the UK 🏳️‍🌈. So let me take you back to a time when life for gay people in this country was very different indeed.
And good morning to you, the Telegraph.

Can I just say I'm glad they don't?
Sir Peter Riddell, the former Commissioner for Public Appointments, speaking about standards in public life just now:

"I had a rule...If something [I did] appeared in Private Eye, could I defend it?"

If ministers adopted the "Private Eye principle, they might have avoided a few problems."

You already have a continuity where Judi Dench didn't notice when he got a new head, and then no one in Mi6 went "Blofeld? What, like that bloke we were always battling in the old days, all five of him?"
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Have just had thousand island dressing for the first time since (I think) the Pizza Hut salad bar in the 90s. Mind blown. From now on intend to only eat anything if it is covered in thousand island dressing.

Just checked in on the news for the first time in days, and I appear to have chosen an interesting edition of Private Eye to take off on holiday...

Amazing offer. Reading along with David's live illustration was the best experience, and he somehow got exactly what was in my head.

I'm not saying this is *the* most frequently consulted reference book on my shelves, but without it I would be completely unaware of the existence of St Jones (don't panic Mr Mainwaring!) and Saints Lennon and McCartney.

I'll be honest, I don't think he'd have been that wild about TV in the first place.

"I don't think he's angry, just Irish" - me reassuring my husband about the loud man at the next table in the bar

Not being funny but this seems really late. We took *our* Prince Andrew banner down ages ago.

I used to live with two white South African flatmates (male) who seemed to believe that food didn't count unless it physically hurt.
I feel like this take will provoke discourse but imo the steriotype should be that white people if anything want unecessarily spicy food

Slightly obsessed with this picture of the Telegraph's fashion team in this morning's paper, which was presumably the best one they could choose from the entire photoshoot.

A surprising choice, but a wise one.

With Alexa down I may have to start swearing at real people for not doing what I asked them to.

Always enjoy quite how genteel Rupert Murdoch's papers are (particularly since they stopped printing photographs of women with their tits out). You'll find no poo or pussy in THESE pages *covers up piano legs*

Can we just be clear that this doesn't mean we need any more films about it?
Wait - she once interviewed Prince Andrew? Why has nobody ever mentioned this before?

My favourite thing is that The Traitors is a game that is literally impossible to play so they all just have a random guess and get a faithful and then Claudia is like YOU USELESS WORMS THE TRAITORS ARE SPITTING IN YOUR FACE AND YOU DESERVE EVERY DROP I DESPISE YOU TO THE DEPTHS OF MY SOUL

I don't know who needs to hear this - yes I do, it's me - but SAVE YOUR DRAFTS. Wrote a really good, research-heavy chapter back in about May that needs to go back in the book now and it is gone forever because I'm a pillock.

1. Salute that flag
2. Provide evidence of earnings
3. Detail Hardy's use of the pathetic fallacy in his description of Egdon Heath
They have to be able to write 1000 words on how The Tempest is a critique of Colonialism?
