Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.
Thank you.

It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For ‘doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

My house has a wood burning stove and I used to use it regularly. I thought It was cheap and climate-friendly. It is neither. It took me the best part of a year to fully change my mind on wood burning but the evidence is irrefutable. I would never use it again.
It’s #CleanAirNight! Did you know that wood burning is the most polluting way to heat your home? Wood burning smoke produces fine particulate air pollution (PM2.5), which enters your bloodstream when inhaled and can cause heart & lung disease, as well as increase your risk of diabetes and dementia

Yesterday, the UK Gov published a report acknowledging this - 47 years later.

But they did so without any announcement. So very few people know.

It's time for a televised briefing. #NEB2025

Our Watershed Pollution Map filtered to show nitrogen oxide pollution - lighter colour = higher levels. You can pick out the road network in nitrogen oxide emissions. Diesel engines produce particularly high levels of this gas, linked to heart + breathing conditions.

- Know if the government is putting its money where its mouth is on prioritising road maintenance over building new roads when RIS3 is published.

👍 Planting a new tree is great but...
👎 ...it takes decades of growth before that new tree is mature enough to absorb the carbon emitted from the one burnt last night.

Wood Is Not a Carbon-Neutral Energy Source
Treating it as such – and supporting it with subsidies, as the UK and many other EU member states do – is a flawed path to climate action.
