Dieses Bild zeigt eine stimmungsvolle Szene, während eines Sonnenuntergangs, wobei die Sonne tief am Horizont steht und durch dichten Nebel oder Dunst scheint. ​Vordergrund und Mittellinie: Eine dunkle Silhouette von Bäumen (wahrscheinlich Nadelbäume) und einer kleinen Siedlung oder einem Dorf dominiert den unteren Bildbereich. Auf der linken Seite stechen deutlich die Umrisse eines oder mehrerer Kirchtürme heraus. ​Himmel und Licht: Der Großteil des Bildes wird von einer dicken Schicht aus orange-gold leuchtendem Nebel eingenommen. Die Sonne selbst ist als helle, kreisrunde, gelb-weiße Scheibe sichtbar, die rechts in der Mitte des Bildes in den Nebel eingebettet ist und einen starken, diffusen Lichtschein erzeugt, der die gesamte Szene in warme Farben taucht. ​Oberer Bereich: Der oberste Teil des Himmels über der Nebelschicht ist in einem dunklen Blau-Grau gehalten und bildet einen starken Kontrast zu den warmen Farben darunter. ​Die Gesamtstimmung ist mysteriös und friedlich, wobei das warme Licht gegen die dunklen Silhouetten und den kalten oberen Himmel eine dramatische Wirkung erzielt.

Minoan gold ornaments (2500-2200 BC), from Crete - Greece.

They could have been worn in the hair or clothing, and must have been quite expensive, since gold was imported from Egypt and was extremely rare.
