She was amazing in every measure of the word, I have no idea why her story connected with me so strongly as a young white male in the deep south, but it did, and I'm lucky for it. She'll remain an inspiration my entire life.

Of all the hundreds of successful 🪶 Osprey hunts I've witnessed, conflicts between individuals are rare. Not sure this was a conflict, or an opportunist noticing that the first bird had a tenuous grasp on its prey, either way it was impressive aerobatics from both

I've been enthralled with the 🪶 Scissor Tailed Flycatcher for years, but I only ever seemed to find them on power lines or flitting away in the distance. Last weekend, I was able to spend some real quality time with this fella, and he was GORGEOUS

In a later run, which I referenced in another post, I did identify two such awards. That discrepancy is a matter of sampling size, not an issue with the query itself. These 🪶 White Throated Swifts weren't especially close and certainly started around like they were allergic to the camera, but I couldn't have asked for a better location to hang out with them on the bank of the Rio Grande in Big Bend National Park
