Today is the 1y anniversary of my BC diagnosis. Yest. I skied a black mogul run top to bottom w/o stopping & in doing so firmly raised my middle finger to cancer. Last year was tough. I am in no way out of the woods but, given the circs I like to think like the name of the piste, I am bossing it.

Saw oncologist last week. Latest scan shows no evidence of disease & bloods are good. Stage 2 (active treatment) is over (for now). We move to stage 3 - preventative treatment. It’s the best news we cd have hoped for. Some breathing space as this is far from over. Good news though. X

So the UIFSM payment has been increased from £2.53 to £2.58 for this academic year. When the cost of these meals to schools is now over £3 per meal for many schools this isn’t particularly helpful? This is a flawed policy that puts unnecessary financial pressure on schools.

Yesterday I had a scan to check that my treatment has worked thus far and now I wait for the results. So that will be just over 2 weeks of total scanxiety to come then #cancer😢😢😢
