@abigiles21.bsky.social
Hi all. Im Abi. All round nerd, roller derby player and scientist by trade.
Gotta say this, @zackpolanski.bsky.social has the ability to give something I haven’t felt in politics for a while. Hope for a better future for ALL. Just the way he is also able to roll with the punches and just make any attempt at character assassination not stick. It’s so refreshing.

No coincidence the times runs the supposed leak (as if they weren’t just given it) about guidance on TDoR. Can’t have a moments space can we??
November 21, 2025 at 12:56 PM
Well, this is probably going to be similar to previous posts I’ve made on this day on previous years.

Today is TDoR.. Trans day of remembrance. It’s always so difficult. So much loss, but having the space amongst friends and chosen family to express that grief is a positive thing

The Home Secretary stating that her horrific proposals will unite the country.

The only uniting I can see is that of widespread condemnation, of hard right fascistic concepts.

I mean confiscation of valuables off refugees?? That feels horribly familiar

Capitalism is an evil system that only results in the few having control, while minorities and those with less have their humanity devalued to the point of nothing more than statistics and fuel for the machine.
The idea of advancement under this system is a lie - it’s feudalism with PR.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

After the latest proposals from this “Labour” govts Home Secretary, it’s clear that they are merely trying to imitate reform with (far) right wing policy.
Limiting the time refugees can remain is against our moral and legal duty.
How has the hard right been allowed to fester and grow??

Screw it I’ll participate

Feb 2016 // July 2025

Damn I was a skinny twink haha

Ok, the people’s joker is defo the best film I’ve seen for a loooong time.
It’s really pretty relatable, especially from a queer and trans perspective. Congrats @veradrew22.bsky.social you absolutely knocked it out park!

Papers please coming to your country

Streeting yet again proving that despite preaching “dignity and respect” he really is just a raging bigot. Yet another man trying to preach about women’s rights while crapping all over a tiny vulnerable minority
🚨 BREAKING | Wes Streeting confirms Labour is actively working to BAN trans women AND trans men from female spaces, describing their presence as "unpleasant".

Streeting confirmed to MumsNet that Labour aims to exclude ALL trans people from single-sex spaces.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the government gets lobbied by energy companies. They need all the help they can to keep this level of gaslighting going

Goanna tell everyone in the future this was Kier Starmer when he was unseated

At the moment there is a certain legal case going on that involves trans people.. yet again.

In this case the pure facts of the incident just seem to circulate that “trans people existing in the same space is not ok”.

Harkens back a lot to 80s homophobia imo in a lot of ways..
July 22, 2025 at 11:23 AM
It feels like the government is basically trying to say “trans people shouldn’t exist” and all these horrific measures, like the new section 28 amplified, is just trying to make us go away quietly.

It’s horrible.
July 16, 2025 at 10:46 AM
Thing is, it is true that the new RSHE guidance was started by the Tory government - Labour had the chance to stop it, but they haven’t.

This is happening with a lot of things. This current labour cabinet are the most right wing ever.

The NHS 10 year plan speaks about choice. However the reality probably doesn’t exist for a lot of people.

2 examples - so many people have had right to choose ADHD referrals yet have been refused shared care by GPs

Anyone who thinks that women (cis or trans) are fragile and therefore should be “bad” at sports
1) needs to get that misogynistic crap out their head
2) has clearly never seen roller derby.
Some quick thoughts on certain legislators ideas around 'conceding' on sports. It actually doesn't matter whether you think it's a good idea or not - you cannot functionally do it. You could have zero trans people in all sports, even recreational, and transphobes will just lie and pretend there are

The issue with cutting financial support for those with disabilities and other health conditions, is that it paints those people as the problem.

The real problem is that society is just ready to discard and devalue someone just because they can’t slave away for a 40 hour week to feed capitalism.

One of the huge reasons I don’t associate my national Identity with my country, is that my country would rather not associate itself with me or my community.

I have felt nothing but disdain and rejection from the gestalt interpretation of how I see the UK, due to the rotten acts of those on top.
June 8, 2025 at 12:19 PM
CW for the EHRC guidance and its transphobic

The language used is appallingly discriminatory. Really buys in to the generally dehumanising narrative that is so pervasive in this country right now.
May 20, 2025 at 1:50 PM
It’s no wonder so many people (including myself) are affected by mental health - the world is such an unkind place.

People talk about things being unnatural - whats natural about working long hours with constant artificially created pressures threatening to remove small comforts just like that?
May 18, 2025 at 1:45 PM
The only bridges Wes Streeting is building are short piers in to an ocean filled with shit due to lax water company regulations that he wants to make the LGBTQ+ community walk over
May 16, 2025 at 12:45 PM
How fitting that the country celebrates the end of a war in Europe against fascism by seemingly adopting certain policies that seem eerily like fascism.
May 5, 2025 at 1:12 PM
Seriously thinking if professional sports players really have a shred of understanding at the level of unjustified hate going towards a tiny minority,

Then they’d held set up new governing bodies that allow inclusivity for sports.
May 1, 2025 at 9:40 AM
So much for all this “free speech” everyone talks about when hating on trans people.
It is literally my job to question not only whatever ruling by whatever court I like, but also every other bit of the law that happens to interest me. Additionally - and for everyone else - there's Art 10 EHCR, which makes it not only my job but also the law that I can, y'know, question the law.
