If t-shirts are now our teachers, we need a t-shirt that reads:

'Ban measles Blindness'

'Ban measles Deaths'

Because measles causes all three and more. And there are too many uneducated people pushing stupidity.

In April 2009, the Washington Post asked 10 writers to make the case for something that deserves to be tossed out as part of "spring cleaning."

I chose Larry Summers.

THE RISE OF END TIMES FASCISM

My first major piece of the new Trump era, co-written with @astra.bsky.social.

The governing ideology of the far right has become a
monstrous, supremacist survivalism.

Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them. www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

RFK making it harder to get vaccinations.
Health care getting completely unaffordable.
Environmental protections going the way of the dodo bird.
And gutting of food safety rules increases deaths from foodborne illnesses.

I think tRump hates us.
Our money & votes? Likes that.
People? Not so much.
Shutdown Deal Kills Food Safety Rules
After lobbyists spent big on the Trump administration and Democratic defectors, the government funding bill cut food-contamination rules and limited ultraprocessed-food research.

Google should consider revising their slogan from "don't be evil" to "don't be evil like us".
Google has become total sh*t!

Horrible search engine.
half to most of the page is AI results or paid ads.

It may go the route of Yahoo or AltaVista.

Maybe they should have kept their "Don't Be Evil" slogan up at their headquarters.

I don't disagree with Warren on this, and the best thing to happen would be for Summers to resign. But if he doesn't every University has a process they must go through to remove a tenured professor.
THIS IS BIG

For non-academics who might not understand why:
1. Sen. Warren is still a Harvard professor so this is a call coming from inside the house
2. As a tenured law prof, Warren knows it is a VERY big deal from a labor standpoint to call on Harvard to ignore tenure. The bar for this is HIGH.
Per CNN, Elizabeth Warren is calling on Harvard to cut ties with Larry Summers after Jeffrey Epstein's emails released last week by House Dems featured Summers making sexist comments + asking for Epstein’s romantic advice.

Was thrilled to help consult for this fantastic John Oliver segment on the tragic plight of U.S. public media and why, if we hope to be a democracy, we still need public media for so many things that commercial media will never provide. Deserves a wide viewership. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yknM...

The framers tried to insulate any president or federal official from corrupting influences in emoluments clause of Constitution.

We can see how well that worked out. One more protection trampled by SCOTUS & MAGA Congress.

They have no shame, no decency.

Thank you @nyclu.org and The Door for fighting so hard for Joel & so many others.

We have state & local governments taking money in form of taxes. Are they using our money fairly, suitable, effectively, efficiently, lawfully?

We need strong local news to find out!
Here are the facts:
📉 More than 75% decrease in local journalists since 2002
⚖️ Less news = more government corruption, especially at the local level

Time to re-check what is in your Walmart Thanksgiving bag. Maybe only Cheerios?
Experts say bird flu — combined with a drop of almost 10% in turkey meat production from last year, rising labor costs and lower overall consumer demand throughout the year — is triggering higher prices for wholesale and fresh turkeys.
Bird flu cases are on the rise again, including 2 million turkeys. Will that affect your Thanksgiving dinner?
Turkeys make up approximately 2% of the entire U.S. poultry inventory, but account for 24% of new cases in commercial and backyard flocks.
