Decided to listen to my random singles collection today. Sadly most are MP3s from Amazon, but it's pretty fascinating cross-section of music I grew up on plus music from the 90s-00s when I moved to the Bay Area plus a smattering of random newer stuff that caught my fancy.

Oh, cool. I worked on SGU and have many fond memories of the experience so I'm excited to see what comes through the Stargate next.

One thing I've realized in my recent revisiting of early 80s New Wave is that the bassists were totally killing it. From Duran Duran to Kajagoogoo to Heaven 17 and so many more, those bass players were just going crazy (in a good way!)

Hard to get the wife to watch scary movies, but she did like "Get Out" and "Nope", so I convinced her to watch "Us" tonight. Have to say, it's probably my favorite Peele horror so far. Hits that sweet spot between creepy and high concept with a really original premise.

Was in the queue but decided to take a pass on getting Rush tickets at $300+ each. It'd be fun to see them again, but I saw them at the same venue for R40 and at the time had made peace with that being my final show. Can't blame them for charging what the market will bear, but not for me this time.

Finally finished up season 3 of Wheel of TIme, and wow that was a huge step up from previous seasons. Sadly, just as it was finding its footing, it was cancelled. 😞 I haven't read the books (yet) but they are in my TBR queue and I'm definitely excited to check them out now.

Sometimes the YT algorithm gets me in a spooky way. Hadn't thought about this series for years, but I watched it religiously in high school. Sincerely doubt it would hold up today, LOL.

If your device is connected to the internet, then either (a) you should be able to query the time via NTP, or (b) you should not display the time at all. 🙄

Protip: If you need to make a QR code, and the site requires you to register/login, then it's trash and don't use it. The wife just got caught by one of these. A QR code just encodes data, and if you're creating one for a link, it should encode the link directly. I recommend justaqrcode.com

This is why I'm not generally in favour of remasters as they tend to lead to the erasure of originals, or at best, they are relegated to becoming DLC for newer versions.

This is not preservation, just a cynical cash grab, ironically by a company that is not even the original it claims to be.
