I'd like an MLB news source that excludes all rumors and speculation. I only want news that actually happens. I don't have time for all this non-news crap.

I found my 135th MLB player who signs with Bible verses.

Will Ohman played 2000-2001, 2005-2012. Five seasons for the Cubs. He signs exclusively with Colossians 3:17.

I had a theory that this 2025 World Series was more exciting because there were less strikeouts (and more contact). But that theory didn't hold.

Of the 26 World Series since 2000, the 2025 World Series is 11th for most SO/IP. Rather average for strikeouts.

Wow. If you look at the 20 top clutch relief pitching performances in World Series history… two of them happened last night.

#6 all-time: Toronto’s Eric Lauer 12th to 16th inning

#16 all-time: LA’s Will Klein 15th to 18th inning

It feels weird to pull a Cody Bellinger Cubs card from the Topps Bunt iOS app

My 6-year-old and 9-year-old daughters are using my Cubs W flag from the 2025 Wild Card Series as a blanket for their dolls.

Yesterday was the 10-year anniversary of the Chicago Cubs clinching the NLDS over the Cardinals on October 13, 2015. First postseason clinch ever at Wrigley Field.

Here's a video of the last out. Héctor Rondón strikes out Stephen Piscotty.

That Ian Happ home run was truly a moonshot.

Matt Shaw has been hitless for all six games of the postseason. I was getting ready to say he shouldn't start today.

But then looking at the Cubs with the highest OBS in the NLDS, Shaw has an OBS of .444. That's the highest of any the Cubs (other than Turner's two at bats)

I’m doing my first crossover multi-scorecard drawing. These are games 1 and 2 of the Wild-Card series. Featured are the back-to-back home runs by Seiya and Carson Kelly from game 1.

I'm pretty pleased with how Seiya turned out. Now onto drawing Swanson and Nico making defensive gems for game 2.

Two good articles about the NLDS:

- The Brewers knew the tendencies of the Cubs pitchers and adjusted their swings on these expected pitches. Not homerun swings, but simple swings that result in singles.
One Thing You Can Do, One Pitch You Can Do It With: Brewers' Marvelous Specificity Creates Runs in Bunches
Two signature Brewers rallies and a standalone lightning bolt delivered the death blow to the Chicago Cubs Monday night. It was all a product of Milwaukee's exceptional ability to take what the situat...

Nico Hoerner, 2025:

vs. 28 Other Opponents: 38 SO in 594 PA (6.3%)
vs. Brewers: 11 SO in 55 PA (20%)

Hoerner has still found some hits in this series, to his great credit. But the #Brewers have a plan for him in big spots, and it works.

Here’s the thing about the Milwaukee Brewers. It’s NOT A popular opinion. Nobody took them seriously for years… because of Bob Uecker.

Bob Uecker set the tone for the Brewers. He set the image for the Brewers.

You couldn't possibly treat that team seriously.

I was just thinking about how Craig Counsell's vibe has changed since he joined the Cubs.

My blog post: www.57hits.com/pat-murphy-v...
Pat Murphy vs Craig Counsell - 57 hits
What impact does a manager really have on his team? Maybe more than strategy, it’s about vibe. Players seem to play better for managers who are lovable. Endearing. Human.

Chicago Cubs in the '25 postseason

WC game 1 - 13 K's
WC game 2 - 11 K's
WC game 3 - 11 K's
DS game 1 - 12 K's
DS game 2 - 11 K's

That's a 34.5% strikeout rate this postseason

The Brewers conversely have the highest xWoBA so far in an obviously giant sample size with a 16.7% strikeout rate

The Cubs need a new strategy. They’ve been homering in the first inning of each game against the Brewers. That’s usually great. But it gets the Brewers woken up. They need the Brewers to be sleepy.

Before game 1 of the Wild Card Series, Kyle Tucker wore a Michael Jordan 3-peat tshirt to Wrigley.

I absolutely cannot stand the current state of MLB TV broadcasts. I am an Xfinity subscriber, but I cannot watch the final Cubs Wild Card Playoff game.

I am an MLB.tv subscriber, and I cannot watch it that way either. Unbelieveable.

My view from Wrigley Field yesterday in the second game of the Wild Card Series. Chicago Cubs vs. San Diego Padres.

Wow, taking public transit to a Cubs game got me 16,789 steps. (and also a good portion from walking the ramps to Wrigley Field's upper deck)

I really love the photos from the 1988 Score baseball set.

On a whim, I googled: 1988 Score photo editor
I was hoping to find the editor who selected the photos. But alas, I didn't find the person.

If anyone knows who the photo editor(s) was for the 1988 Score baseball set, please let me know.

My dollar store sells $1.25 packs of 2025 Donruss baseball cards. Only five cards in a pack, but my pack had some good names.

I still can’t get over not seeing team logos on their hats and jerseys.

Based on lowest career WAR, this is the worst Cub ever. Eddie Miksis played with the Cubs 1951-1957. I recently bought this 1954 Bowman to honor his achievement.

I've been pulling baseball stats daily via R with baseballr from FanGraphs.

Every few days, I get “Request failed [403].” My code stays the same, I get the 403, then the same code works later.

Does FanGraphs' API server go down that often?
