In light of the astronomical increases for my health insurance next year, I thought it would be a good time to encourage people to subscribe. (A few hundred should cover it. Sigh.)

A knitting horror story for this week’s #showMeYourKnits: in August 2011 I knit these self-designed cabled gloves. Then I lost them 2 months later on Halloween night. The fell out of my coat pocket and I couldn’t find them the next day. I made them from the fingers up, so I lost 10 magic cast ons!

The latest Material Girls podcast episode has the perfect description of our times:

“I feel like everybody I know and love is being ground to a fine powder by late capitalism and none of us can imagine a respite from it except working ourselves to death.” (accompanied by grim/uproarious laughter)

Proud to announce the project I've been working on 🏳️‍⚧️🧬

Had hoped to have more ready, but the events of the last week stressed the importance of speaking up against fascism NOW

I'd appreciate your support in spreading the word, esp if you work in life sciences research, healthcare, or biotech
It's the scientific community's duty to fight misinformation, bioessentialism, and eugenics

That's why we're launching Beyond X&Y, an educational campaign combating the rise of unscientific political propaganda used to attack trans and intersex people

40% of Republicans think the COVID vaccine killed more people than the COVID virus. One in four believe that QAnon is real.

No matter how far they radicalize, we are told over and over again that the people being rude to them are the problem.

Yes, I did have a nice holiday weekend, thank you for asking.

This is the third steeked project I’ve done and it’s still a little terrifying.

I finished the plain stockinette body on my Otra Yoke cardigan and thought I’d start on the ribbing tonight, but it’s too long 😞
It’s going in time out for a few days before I rip it back 2 inches. I hate ripping back, but sometimes it’s the only way.
