Last year, Clocky from Pee-Wee's Playhouse showed up in Target bsky.app/profile/4ran... ,now here's the man himself! With Criterion having released Big Adventure, looks like 2026 is going to be the year of the Reuben.

Just saw Besson's Copolla's Stoker's Dracula. Despite a shitty audience, me likey! Like Del Toro's Frankenstein it gets TOO sappy, but it's also more playful. Renfield & Lucy combined? It works! Also nice to see that cutesy gargoyle sidekicks aren't just for Disney anymore. Period horror Uber Alles!

kind of incredible that I wrote a book where a castle falls on JK Rowling during a fictional apocalypse and if anything I was way too kind and generous about her motivations

Much as I hate her, I was willing to overlook J.K. Rowling calling Lolita a 'tragic love story' because plenty of other idiots also have for decades (usually because they've never really read it), now re-reading her comment in light of the Epstein revelations...fuck.

Sure #ICE terrorizes citizens, gases children, brutalizes protesters, shouts slurs at passerby, threatens workers into giving them discounts, shoots people for nothing, but they helped one guy restart his car. That balances everything.

Whoever votes to fund them should be voted out as soon as possible. If you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem and on the wrong side of history.

As a nation, we are far, far from out of the woods. It's going to take decades to fix this, if ever. But seeing the protests in Minnesota gives me hope. I know it sounds cliche, but stay strong out there.

Incredible. The people of Minnesota are inspiring a nation.
A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!

Just finished reading my 2025 leftover books and am about to start my first new read of '26. Should it be R.F. Kuang's Katabasis (Kuang's Yellowface was my favorite read last year) or The Woman in White (which I'm embarrassed to have never read)? Might have to toss a coin.

Because it was never about "fairness" to cis girls or women, it is about harming trans girls and women in particular. We exist, we are not going away, we have always been here even if you ignored us.
Cis supremacy and white supremacy are the same supremacy.
1. And just when you thought Trump's trans sports ban threats were as ridiculous as they possibly could be...

Now, he is sending threats to a middle school for having a trans cheerleader on a co-ed cheer team.

One Maine school is now in the crosshairs of the Dept. of Ed.

Damn, it's been six days since Scott Adams died and connectivity issues kept me from getting online to reminisce about the horrors of the Dilburrito. I could now, but it's just not the same *sob*

Let's not forget, millions of Americans voted for Trump. They are our fellow citizens. So regardless of where we stand politically, it is imperative to reach out and tell each and every one of them that they are stupid fucking assholes.

So this is how 2025 dies, with applause.

Yeah, this has been one shitty year, but we made it! Going to First Night in Monterey, well, depending on whether or not I have to kayak through it with this rain. Happy #NewYear bsky!

For years, a sizable segment of the MAGA base insisted there was a secret, elite pedophilic cabal running major governments and trafficking children.

Then the Epstein files began pointing to Trump’s involvement in something incredibly similar—and the theory quietly disappeared.

#2026 is upon us, and there are still no Grinch-inspired rappers called ‘Dawg MaXXX’ or Simpsons-inspired punk bands called ‘Monster Put In Wallet’ or ‘Gay4Moleman’.

America really needs to get it’s priorities straight.

I'm a few days late, but who cares? My Holiday swag. Ren Fair booze, a vintage cryptozoology rag, Warren magazine goodness, replacements for CDs that my friend borrowed then lost and a sturdier copy of Nabokov's saddest book. Not a bad haul!

Black Christmas ('74 accept no substitutes), classic Holiday ghost stories, my two favorite Xmas albums and of course, British pub ale that isn't Newcastle.

I'm set for the night.
