Just saw Besson's Copolla's Stoker's Dracula. Despite a shitty audience, me likey! Like Del Toro's Frankenstein it gets TOO sappy, but it's also more playful. Renfield & Lucy combined? It works! Also nice to see that cutesy gargoyle sidekicks aren't just for Disney anymore. Period horror Uber Alles!

Much as I hate her, I was willing to overlook J.K. Rowling calling Lolita a 'tragic love story' because plenty of other idiots also have for decades (usually because they've never really read it), now re-reading her comment in light of the Epstein revelations...fuck.

As a nation, we are far, far from out of the woods. It's going to take decades to fix this, if ever. But seeing the protests in Minnesota gives me hope. I know it sounds cliche, but stay strong out there.
