the reason we are endlessly tormented by the "are games art" conversation even though they obviously are and always have been is because they are not marketed, sold, played, discussed, reviewed, or critiqued like art, they are more broadly consumed as one would a drive through fast food order

speaking of friction and difficulty as though it can only be a barrier to the experience of art is thought terminating at best. the act of struggle itself is part of the central thesis of some of my favorite pieces. describing this done with intention as an accessibility issue is deeply embarrassing

really enjoying only logging in like twice a month. i'm still keeping abreast of the news so i know how bad everything is but you know what i don't have to know is how fucking stupid everything is. anyway hollow knight kinda sucked ass but silksong was one of the best games i ever played
