"Libraries are one of the pillars and cornerstones of a democracy, and free public libraries are part of a civic infrastructure that we need to have a safe democracy." -Carla Hayden, fired by Trump after almost a decade as the Librarian of Congress

This. Carville and Pelosi think Democrats should just sit and wait for the 2026 elections. It will be too late.
Again, elections happen under competitive authoritarianism. What doesn’t happen is legal accountability for criminals allied with the government, or elections that are fully free & fair. We already don’t have those. If the claim is we’re still going to be a full democracy in 2026/8, I have bad news.

What this ad doesn’t show: Ring also rolled out facial recognition for humans. I wrote to them months ago about this. Their answer? They won’t ask for your consent.

This definitely isn’t about dogs—it’s about mass surveillance.

Why are you still capitulating? You don't get money anymore from the federal government. What gives? Of all the news stories to write, this is your priority?

Please pay attention to decimal places as you read this post. He paid $750.00 in income taxes [I am neither an accountant nor a lawyer so will make no further comment on that] and wants $10,000,000,000.00 because somebody leaked that fact.

People who voted for Trump because they wanted immigrants out do not grasp how much our nation relies on and has always relied on immigrants. Social security will go bankrupt much faster and there won't be a large enough working age population to do all the jobs an aging America will need.

Meanwhile my health insurance has doubled, car/home insurance and skyrocketed, grocery prices are way up, Congress can't pass any meaningful legislation or keep the rogue Prez in check, my kids' student loan amounts are decreasing, and my blue state gets denied promised funding.
This isn't right.

Let me get this straight. I have to send in money to the IRS to help pay for ICE's terrorism, Noem's cosplay trips, Trump's golf outings, and now to give money to Trump because his tax records were shown even though he said he would and every other modern president has always shown tax returns?
Sitting President attempts to steal $10 BILLION from taxpayers.

The most corrupt regime of our lifetimes. With no close second.

And the Hunter hunters are silent.

"It's just unfortunate we've gotten to this point".
Understatement of the year, buddy. And I'm not talking the super bowl.
Tuberville: "Unfortunately we've got the Woke Bowl, because we're getting more and more woke. We got Bad Bunny or Bad Rabbit at halftime. I'll be watching the TPUSA halftime show. It's just unfortunate we've gotten to this point."

So much for the millennials and gen-z's, who already are faced with a horrible job market and high inflation. First generations who will be worse off than their parents.

Sleepy don has no clue how hard the average person works. He doesn't even know what the prices are at a gas pump.
Trump: "People that own their homes -- we're gonna keep them wealthy. We're gonna keep those prices up. We're not gonna destroy the value of their homes so that somebody who didn't work very hard can buy a home."

And as we all sit down to do our taxes, let's think about where our money is going. Who is for this?? I can't imagine that even the most hardened racist Maga wants to see this much of their tax money going towards this. Let's make sure everyone understands how much ICE has already received.

Big shot award winning newsrooms either knew and failed to report or didnt know. Hard to say which is worse.

It is wild to me that a military incursion to steal another country’s resources so the president can have a personal slush fund in Qatar is like the 5th most scandalous thing currently happening.
this is a straightforward impeachable offense for trump, vance, rubio and every other person down the line who enabled it and the framers would have thought impeachment for it did not go nearly far enough
Marco Rubio: "The oil proceeds are being deposited into an account that ultimately will become a US Treasury blocked account here in the US. We will say 'this is what this money can be spent on.' They will submit to us a budget request -- 'we want to use the money on these things.'"

People are right to be incensed, but there are more names to uplift. ICE killed an immigrant man named Silverio Villegas González in Chicagoland. He had children. Victor Manuel Diaz was kidnapped in Minneapolis and died in ICE custody on January 14. Their names deserve to be repeated, too.

Release the files. Don't get distracted
WELKER: When will all Epstein files be released?

BLANCHE: Look, we've been working literally 7 days a week to go through them, but there is nothing more important than protecting the victims. We will not rush that process.

WELKER: How soon?

BLANCHE: I'm not going to create an artificial deadline

Yes, the GOP controls Congress. That's why it's key to show Congress COULD stop the madness. And it's not just the DHS bill. Congress could repeal the prior multi-year $75b for DHS; set up a special investigative committee (cf. Watergate); amend the Insurrection Act; etc.
