This has been a pretty hellish week, we can all agree, but GDQ has been on and has been a small ray of positivity and joy. Just people playing games really fast. I recommend it as a brief respite.

I wonder if this guy knows that he lifted the mood of a nation. We felt such a range of emotions, empathy, concern, hysterical laughter. This was the first thing to make me laugh til I cried after my mam died. A hero.

The Taoiseach, in China, says "platforms can be misused and abused or they can be used for positive reasons as well..." and says that should be considered carefully "before jumping to conclusions" on whether it's appropriate for the Government to be on X.

I have rapidly graduated from this stance to "every soul working for the Twitter/X European HQ in Dublin after this week should be charged".
On a national level I wonder is there a political case to be made for banning twitter in Ireland on the grounds that it hosts CSAM.
