Yup, I am a radical.

Apparently that means wanting others to be able to be themselves without fear of persecution (particularly women, LGBTQ+, religious freedom), and to be able to survive and thrive in a sustainable world.

Yeah.
Radical.

I’m a writer and I write about war and conflict; I spend 80% of my reading time on primary sources. The impact of violence and war on people—not just soldiers but civilians and families—is terrible and lasts generations. For Remembrance Day, honour the fallen, but remember war and its costs.

I saw a few memorials in Paris earlier this year for the 2 World Wars; the 1st in La Gare du Nord, the 2nd outside the Musee d'Art Moderne. Both beautiful and haunting, leaving me to reflect then, as I do now, on the futility and tragedy of war.

May we never forget the sacrifices made by others.

Sometimes the world is shite and you don't feel great, so you have a good chocolate chip cookie.

Yeah, the world is still shite.

But at least you had a good cookie, and sometimes that's the minor victory of existence you have.

I still want everyone to be able to be treated fairly, have a healthy and happy life, and have the default way of treating others to be with kindness and empathy.

That won't change, but the world is doing its damnedest to numb me out.

I am posting more video game or similar nonsense these days, as the constant stream of danger from our own governments, plus the facism in the US, has really done a number on my well-being (as has many of you too).

Will today be the day I beat the basic version of the Hollow Knight, and finish my first playthrough of that game?

Enquiring minds, and spouses tired of hearing that initial scream in game, want to know.

So my collection of Switch versions are complete. Super robot Wars V, T, and X.

Now to find some time to actually do some robot gaming.

Today keeps veering between "do I take cough syrup, or straight whiskey?"

And the whiskey isn't medicinal.

Horology update; the wristwatches have had their times changed. Turns out getting into the hobby (and getting my wife into it too) means twice a year labour.

Moreso if they have a date function.

So I found out we get the game on one of our streaming services.

And it is bloody stressful. I am regretting watching this.
