I don't know why I thought of this but Minnesota's new statewide earned sick and safe time law prevents your employer for asking for proof of why you're not at work when you use it until you're out for a certain number of days. One day is not enough to require proof. Just thinking about that.

Just crying in the club (my couch) b/c a lot of folks who don't know the law are giving small biz bad advice about I-9 audit notices. PLEASE direct any small business owner you know not to publicly post about any notice and to contact a lawyer. I can help Mpls and Henn Co businesses at no cost.
