My most woke opinion is that the whole point of society is to collectively help each other. My taxes should be going towards housing and feeding everyone. No one should be without food or shelter. Rich people should be contributing more towards this. It shouldn't even be controversial!

Equal parts "I never want to hear about the news in the US again for the rest of my life" and "I'm sorry, I live in the US, it's so crazy right now that I really don't have the brain space for news from other countries at the moment" and I now just have paralysis that I would say is maybe unhealthy?

One reason I'll always advocate that my fellow J>E colleagues tune out anti-loc noise and always just Do Good Work is because sometimes someone in Japan gives you your props. Maybe it's the dev team and they update the source text based on YOUR work, or maybe it's fans, but either way, it's nice. 😌

最近うpしてた謎のキャラデザはですね、以前にオリジナルできらら系4コマ漫画を描こうと思ってたんですが、キャラだけ作って放置してたのでいい加減やるかと思ったものの元絵のデザインのカロリーで漫画が描けるかい！となったので、今リファインしてる感じ（これは当時の絵）

This is (one reason) why I’m against generative AI, period. Instead of being able to inherently look at any type of media with joy or trust, I now always have to be vigilant about its authenticity and ethics. Every video, every doodle, every photograph is suspicious. It’s exhausting.
Why am I so against generative AI in games?
Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.
