Applying systems engineering principles to the current landscape: 🧵

1/8 A basic principle about systems is that if we understand all the inputs to the system, we can accurately predict the resulting output.

We can think about this mathematically (a transfer function) or practically.

We can do A LOT more than vote them out.

There could be some regimes that were removed by a peaceful vote but I cannot think of one.

Americans need to start learning what did work elsewhere. This book is a good start and an easy read. The author was a leader in the Serb resistance.

I feel like telling protesters to "remain peaceful" makes sense in the context of AVOIDING ESCALATION and makes much less sense in the context of protests that are a direct response to state sponsored execution.
Must we also walk to the gallows peacefully? Where's the line?

Hey when the president says he doesn't care about international law that means it's cool to commit crimes against him right

My most desired outcome and what I see as the most likely outcome are not the same but I can recognize both at once.

I would hope for impeachment, removal, conviction and incarceration.

What I foresee as most likely is inaction that culminates in violence.

I'm starting to think we might have a problem here.

Rapist insurrectionist sex trafficker = you can run the country.

Single conviction from years ago = can't work at the hardware store.

What are we doing

Free candy in my DM's! And by "candy" I definitely don't mean "the email addresses for the Hilton CEO and executive team"
January 7, 2026 at 3:12 PM
Cancelled my Hilton Honors account, emailed the CEO and told the support line that I will no longer be purchasing lodging through them. They are defending housing a secret police force that is illegally and violently abducting people off the street without any warrants or probable cause.

Weird how often right wingers resort to insults and fallacies when they can't respond with with facts.

Watch out, folks, the logical fallacies are out in force today.

All the zoo animals escaped and they're announcing a vote on whether they should close the cages.

The fact that so many people think leaving voicemails will stop an authoritarian shows me how far we are from actually effectively dealing with this.

Calling Congress assumes an administration that respects law, norms, or reality. This one doesn’t. It’s not policy-driven—it’s one unhinged man ruling like a mob boss. Americans don’t want war. Congress must reassert its authority now, before chaos becomes doctrine.

Impeachment does nothing to this rogue administration. There must be real accountability and action taken to put these criminals behind bars. They stopped following rules a long time ago and they do not fear any action normally taken by congress. We must go further with these murderers.

Just woke up even angrier. Impeach, convict, remove. Draft articles now. Either we have a representative government or we don’t. Do not shut up about this until there’s a vote.

So, the U.S. believes we can kidnap and put foreign presidents on trial in our country but not our own president?

What a crock of shit. Outrageous!

(And why did Trump pardon the Honduran president again?)

So the US can attack a sovereign nation without congressional approval. All at the whim of their fascist, pedophile President.
And it appears that the US military is on board with his illegal actions.
It aint over. By a long shot!

A dictator just launched an illegal war without Congress — that’s what he is if we don’t impeach & remove him from office

This is a dark day in American history

The aging pedophile who wants to be a king has kidnapped the leader of a sovereign nation without congressional approval.

If the United States had an opposition party, they would treat this as an illegitimate act and start impeachment proceedings immediately.

Literally no one in power in the US believes any part of the state is governed by rules. The rules exist as long as they're useful to the interests of capital, and they cease to exist when they are against the interests of capital. The US is a fascist plutocracy. The ref isn't gonna step in

The thing is the GOP have already decided they do not.

Its time to wake up and recognize the Republican party has been engaged in a coup of the United States and have successfully seized enough power they can ignore the constitution all they like. We have no rights.

Impeachment proceedings are mandatory. You either believe the presidency is governed by rules or you don’t.
