We now have a full-blown European-American crisis, and for no reason that the president is able to articulate
I hear you. But this policy would last about 24 hours. Until a court enjoined it for interfering with a federal function. There may be responses to that but this Supreme Court would maintain it for many months until the merits would be resolved.
You have to wonder what would motivate a sane person to do this.

With respect to Clemens people ought to remember that he he consistently denied ever knowingly taking PEDs & when prosecuted for saying that under oath, acquitted by a jury. The Hall is full of steroid users & other miscreants, but great baseball players. But very few as great as Bonds and Clemens.
