Pause for a minute to appreciate the valiant Program Officers still at NSF, who are doing their utmost to preserve what they can. They’re in the stinking rotting belly of the beast, laboring on our behalf.

❤️❤️❤️❤️ to them
Probably every single woman in science in the United States under the age of 50 has been positively impacted by the NSF ADVANCE program in some way. As I hear stories of ADVANCE cancellations, it's hard to really fully grasp the tremendous damage the end of that one program is doing. 🧪

We are starting to collect information on NSF grant terminations to create a shared resource as we have for NIH. The more information we collect, the more we can organize, advocate, and fight back! Please share widely!

After 29 years as a faculty member, I have seen how hard-won progress toward equity in academia can be, and how easily it can be lost. New disruptions to research funding & national service demand urgent changes to promotion and tenure criteria. Add your ideas!

Really seems like it will be challenging for NSF to catch up and get the funding out the door by the end of the fiscal year. Temporary pauses on panels didn't help either. It seems really unclear what is happening.

We’ve often said tenured professors don’t see themselves as workers, so I’m glad to see this effort gain momentum!!! Once a certain signature threshold is reached, this will be published on AAUP blog & the organizers will solicit press coverage.

What a great REU story! These types of experiences are so critical for giving critical experiences to the next generation of scientists. Let's hope NSF fights to keep it going. And, we must think of ways to help them in that fight.
