Fortunately it hasn't been raining for a while (bar some light rain and drizzle the other day, at least in the Kharkiv-Izium-Kram corridor).

A short clip from when it wasn't even at its worst.

The fog in Zaporizzhia was amazingly thick yesterday. While walking around I kept thinking about how the Russians could exploit these weather conditions. Apparently they did in Pokrovsk. www.corriere.it/esteri/diret...

That's foolish, but it's OK. You never donated anything to Ukraine anyway, right?

Yay!

To be honest you'll find vatnik vibes in Norway too. Including schools. A gymnasium near my office has a teacher of social studies who basically is a Russian propagandist in his free time. And an internet troll of the first degree.

I think you misinterpreted the uh, btw... det är lugnt!

It's good news, but Russia's still got North Korea, Iran, perhaps even China.
Mark Rutte, NATO Secretary General, made an official statement: Russia is no longer producing more ammunition than all NATO Allies combined.

Let that sink in. Until recently, Moscow had the advantage.👇

Not only that... I used to be THE finlandssvensk professor of geography in Helsinki.

Mielenkintoista, but what surprises me is that finlandssvensk school would have vatnik vibes. Why would that differ from a Finnish one? I mean, as to the Russian one it's kind of clear, of course.

UH, we're talking ab Finland here.

The Swedish ones tend to have these problems too, or is this case by chance?

Yes, indeed. It just feels so tragic.

Kharkiv: the moonlit metropolis. I had never seen anything quite like this before. And I've been here many times, just never been outside under these particular conditions. 2/

Imagine a big city. With all the street lights switched off, zero cars and zero people. The night is chilly. Add a full moon. And a large halo around it. It's poetic, chilling and mesmerizing at the same time. 1/

Fact is, the town is clearly located more than 10 km from the frontline - if one is to believe the DeepState or ISW maps. So unless the maps are wrong, this would seem to be a way of ensuring that evacuation takes place with some margin. 3/

The city of Druzhkivka recently introduced the 15-11 curfew, meaning you are only allowed to be outdoors for 4 hours a day. In practice, that means the town is doomed (evacuation inevitable), which is likely the intention. 2/

This is very very dark. I just got to Kharkiv a few hours ago and I am learning that the northern Donetsk oblast administration is effectively shutting down. Trains won't be running - indefinitely. 1/
Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast's iconic front-line rail stop, closed for 'indefinite period'
Trains that ran to Kramatorsk will now have their final destination in the city of Husarivka in Kharkiv Oblast.

By the way, happened to finish reading your book while in Lviv.

Thanks, greetings, as a matter of fact, from a Ukrainian train. I actually have a paper under review right now about frontline cities, who knows what will happen to it...

Finally got to reading this book. It is outstanding and the main argument that history is just continuing (rather than repeating itself) is compelling. In other words: Russia is just continuing to do what it's always been doing, bar a few short and hesitant interruptions.
It is here!

But if you DID finance Ukrainian (para or non) militaries, that would have been cool. The Russian opposition needs Ukrainian victory to move forward. And a non-imperial new national concept. One that accepts that Russia is Russia, Ukraine is Ukraine, Moldova is Moldova, etc.
The statement included the usual fabrications about armed overthrow and financing Ukrainian paramilitaries. We are not doing any of this.

But buried in their accusations was dissatisfaction with our dialogue at PACE.
