The Luhansk komsomol group (to which Yefremov belonged) was Russia's pet throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

Trains that go through Sumy change locomotives in Konotop - from electrical to diesel. That's because the train passes passes through Vorozhba (9,1 km from Russian border), and an electric locomotive would risk getting stranded in case of an attack.
Russian forces intensified strikes on civilian railway infrastructure in Sumy and Chernihiv regions. A drone hit a locomotive at Konotop station meant to join a passenger train, damaged tracks near Tereshchenska station, and struck a service vehicle, injuring one railway worker. #Ukraine

It's basically like reviving ZIK, Newsone and 112 during an ongoing armed conflict.

My bet is that they will be kicked out after producing too much hostile content and MAGA-friendly (=Russia-friendly) disinfo.

I guess the difference would be in the wording: "assurances" vs. guarantees. But like with any guarantee there are all sorts of loopholes for the guarantor to exploit, especially plausibly deniable attacks (oh no, they are trying to establish a people's republic in Kharkiv, maybe it's genuine!).

I don't really get it. Why would the West respond militarily after a ceasefire breach by Russia when everything so far has been about "escalation management"? Surely there will be those that will say that the breach isn't "bad enough" to justify an escalatory counter-measure?

At last something positive from Musk. Or rather: a step back from something utterly disgusting. Hope it'll stay this way.

Stalinist cities weren't 15-minute cities. They were quite often commuting nightmares. Or, when people didn't commute, they often lived in unhealthy and extremely overcrowded barracks. But it could also have been both: awful barracks AND horrific commutes.
The problem with this account, so far as Oxford itself is concerned, is that these restrictions never actually happened.

Ok, let’s do this🙄

We’ll start with an explainer covering:

🏫What on Earth is going on with Oxford
👽Where the conspiracy theories have come from

And then we’ll look at the Telegraph article

Maybe. Or perhaps it's a guy stating the obvious because he's planning to commit suicide anyway.

Might? I would say it is a certainty that Zelensky would either be killed or imprisoned (and then killed in jail like Navalny).
Putin might easily decide to kill Zelensky in Moscow, believing that the consequences would be short-term and manageable. That’s how badly deterrence has been eroded through a combination of Western weakness and Trump.

In short: US security guarantees are worthless and Washington is a Russian ally.
The United States has signaled to Kyiv that it is ready to discuss security guarantees only if Ukraine agrees to give up part of the Donbas, the Financial Times reports. According to the report, the message was conveyed as part of broader discussions on possible future arrangements.
