🔎 Who in Germany has a #secure #digital #identity? 🧐 Our new study shows that only 35% of the adult German-speaking population have activated the #eID function 😦 6% are not even aware of it 😱 ❗

also konkret:
- Technologietransfer
- Offenheit für neue Technologien & Entwicklungen

In economics, editors, referees, and authors often behave as if a published paper should reflect some kind of authoritative consensus.

As a result, valuable debate happens in secret, and the resulting paper is an opaque compromise with anonymous co-authors called referees.

Both also very good ones!

Sharon Belenzon put it that way: "I don't care about the average. The total number of disruptive papers is up."

As a daily Scopus user I can confirm that missing reference lists are an annoying truth.

@innovation.bsky.social what do you think?

The claim that disruptiveness in scientific papers declined over time (Park, Leahey and Funk 2023 in Nature) is apparently due to articles whose reference lists are not indexed

I remember a paper looking at the content of these books. For long time mostly religious stuff - that can hardly contribute to growth.

Did someone see that too?

Think of control groups as for Oettl (2012) or Azoulay, Graff-Zivin and Wang (2010). In fact, in our companion paper we replicate the search process of Oettl (2012).

sosia is the answer to the problem of Coarsened Exact Matching for large and/or diverse scientists populations.

You do not need to need to compute characteristics for everyone for every year, just let sosia do the search. (Some refinement of margins may be necessary.)

sosia can work with the following criteria
- discipline & field
- year of first publication
- number of publications
- number of coauthors
- number of citing papers
