Dying was the most exciting thing I ever did in my life. I'd like to describe the sensation as comforting, my problems and concerns melting away as I embraced a bright light of shimmering peace. Instead, I experienced the excruciating sensation of my soul being ripped from every atom that made up my body. It felt as if all my cells each had their own full head of hair, and every one of those hairs was simultaneously yanked out. My soul was pulled through a narrow tunnel of light and then there was nothing. It was as black as the shadow creature that haunted my dreams as a child. Here I was, in the afterlife, coming to the realization that there was no afterlife. All that existed was a cold, bleak, nothingness. But that was only for a second. Somehow, despite being only a consciousness in a dark void, I blinked. My eyes opened to a harsh fluorescent light blaring down on me. I had a physical form, or at least felt as if I did. I was afraid to blink a second time, fearing that I would return to the void, but after about a minute or so of not blinking, it dawned on me that I didn't need to. My eyes felt perfectly moisturized—or however they're supposed to feel, despite the direct assault from the fluorescents above. Deciding never to blink again, I began to examine my new surroundings. After exploring the ruins of a lost civilization (Mainly finding remnants of bones and making synthetic DNA structure, and researching the species that once lived), Malyx had an unfortunate accident from some sort of curse on an old necklace that was stuck around his neck, which later caused his body to blow up. Now he is trying to find out what the necklace is or how to get it off his neck. On the table, there are a few artifacts, a small necklace broken in half, and a stone tablet with ancient writing on it. Malyx tries to grab the Stone tablet to try and decipher it, but is having problems trying to reach it with his pudgy arm, not to mention that massive belly is pressing against the table, making it harder to reach, which is making him more annoyed. At least the good news is that all of his clothes are very stretchy and still intact, despite the buttons looking like they are going to fly off any minute. While still trying to figure out a way to grab that stone tablet off the table (and still getting nowhere), he was starting to get a little aroused. He did have some sensitive spots before he looked like a giant mothball, but now with a big belly like that, who wouldn't? He still needs to decipher that stone tablet to figure out some way to take off that necklace and return to normal, but maybe he can take a break and blow off some steam.

The @stephenking.bsky.social story 'The Body' (Stand By Me) and 'Misery' were masterfully translated into movies by Rob Reiner. As a fan of SK, I always struggle with movie adaptations and these remain my favourites. I could bang on but the bridge scene in Stand by Me totally reflected the writing.

It's at the bottom of the wardrobe, under old university textbooks and a graveyard of odd socks and shirts, shoved in there whenever guests came over and promptly forgotten. A shoebox, duct-taped shut, and he can see beneath it where he’s peeled it open before, the torn-up fibres in the cardboard like scarring. He'd done well to hide it there over the past four years. It surprises him when sees it. When he pulls it out, it takes him a moment to recognise whose handwriting it is, scrawled across the lid in permanent marker. It stings, still, how quick he is to remember, but it's just a jab to the stomach, not enough to knock him flat anymore. The kitchen rattles through the open doorway where Wooyoung upturns it diligently, better and quicker at packing than he is. The moving boxes seem huge, piled full of clothes on his bed, when he sits on the floor, shoebox in front of him, and carefully unpicks each end of tape. It's not a good idea, Mingi knows, and it's cemented once he has it open. It’s a time capsule of cards, of notes, of biro sketches of Mingi that he used to slip in his pockets before he left his apartment, of old cinema tickets and receipts, and packets on packets of film photos. He picks up one at random and flips it open: /summer '17/, in that same, messy writing. And there he is, red hair messy and bleach-brittle around his neck, sticking out around his ears. He’s holding the camera above him to get them both in frame, baring all his teeth as he presses their faces together, but still, Mingi's barely in the photo. It's all Hongjoong, winking, fiery, gorgeous, and frozen in time before it all went to shit. "What are you looking at?" Mingi glances up, over at his friend, hand resting on the footboard of his bed, hip cocked, studying the photo in his hand. He looks at his face, scrutinising, then back down. Mingi hadn't even heard him come in. He returns his gaze to the photographs, half-smiling. "Don't lecture me." "I haven't even said anything!" He can still feel him, though, lingering over him like a shadow. After a few moments, Wooyoung seems to give up any non-judgemental pretences and sighs, tired. "Why do you still have this stuff, Mingi?" "You know how in horror movies, when the family realises there's, like, a cursed object in the house, and every time they try to throw it away, it comes back?" Mingi thumbs to the next photo in the stack. Hongjoong must have taken it from his bed. His apartment was barely more than a room with a sink in the corner, but it had beautiful bay windows, and Hongjoong /loved/ it. In the summer, it got so hot that Mingi never wore anything inside. In the photo, he's got one of the windows pushed open, his lanky body bowed over with his head and arms hanging out the window like a dog on a car ride. Across the floor, it's hard to make much out in the shadows, but he can still picture, in a vague and shapeless way, the strewn mess of clothes and takeaway containers that always covered the room. He flips the photo over: /heatwave, some time in july. min sweating it out/. Wooyoung hums. "You know everytime you two got back together, I wanted to kill myself." "Yeah, well." Mingi flips through to the next, then the next. The two of them are in some house he doesn't recognise, one of many parties he can't remember. They're in what looks like a living room, and they're grinning, and he can tell they'd been using by how manic they both look: Hongjoong, holding him too tight, and Mingi with his eyes too wide. "That feeling was all-round mutual." "I just hated watching it. Even in these photos..." Wooyoung leans down, gently takes it from his hand. Hongjoong's written on the back of that one, too, Mingi notices. A /sorry/, nearly illegible, smudged. They must have fought that night. "I don't know," he murmurs. "It's like I can almost smell it." Mingi huffs, looking over when his friend drops to a crouch. "Smell what?" "How sad you both were then." Wooyoung rolls his tongue against his teeth, hands the photo back and picks up something else from the pile. An old handmade card, /Happy Birthday/ collaged out of magazine cuttings and a kiss stain on the inside. Mingi would replay and replay their kisses in the months after everything fell apart, almost ritualising it, until the memories blurred together and confused themselves. Now all that's left are the way the birds sounded in the tree outside the bay windows, so overgrown it felt like it was eating the apartment alive, and the burning smell of vodka. /I've never wanted someone how I want you/, he's scribbled alongside the kiss. /Thank you for being born/. It wasn't an /I love you/, but it was close. "What would you do if he reached out now?" Wooyoung asks, reading it over with the air of a sombre museum-goer. "If he asked to try again?"

I wasn't sure what to do with the background so I did a bit of a gradient and wrote "BROKEN STARS" in a brighter red and set it to difference, I think it turned it pretty cool.

The evil trio from Broken Stars; a story I'm writing. on the right we have UVBlack which is the leader and recruiter, on his left is Felix; the Star who shattered the sky and half of the other Stars in it and next to him is another version of himself named Corrupted Felix. Corrupted was one of the first versions of Felix that UVBlack met but he fed into this Flelix's hatred too much and he became broken behond repair, leading him into this corrupted form you see now. Corrupted lost his eyes, his color, his original fur pattern and most of his body mass as he became a Voidwalker; a being capable of creating and walking into voids anywhere and any time, one downside to his new appearance is that he's constantly bleeding black blood out of his mouth and eye sockets. UVBlack also bleeds this same black blood and so does Felix after joining forces with UVBlack and gaining power from him. However, UVBlack held back from giving Felix too much of his blood so as to not corrupt him like he did with Felix's other self. UVBlack is a Voidjumper which is different from a Voidwalker; Voidwalkers are essentially a subspecies/lower species of Voidjumper, Voidwalkers can only create or enter pre-existing voids in a set timeline or place while Voidjumpers are able to enter different timelines or realities if they jump through enough voids fast enough, think Yugo from Wakfu but evil and scary. Voidjumpers and walkers are also notoriously elusive and there aren't many in existence or so it may seem. Voidwalkers are mainly created from consuming too much blood of a Voidjumper which corrupts their bodies and minds if they have too much at once. Voidjumpers on the other hand are created from pure evil and feelings of hate and rot, Voidjumpers aren't something to mess with unless you want to enter into a world of regret, something that you can never escape from.

I knew you'd like it!" A series of sketches based on one of Jehta's microfictions. These sketches show the gloved hand of a maid opening her mistress' panty drawer, where a shrunken person in hero garb is trapped. Then, the giant maid's hand reaches for the hero, taking them, manhandling their little body before closing her hand around them. You can't see her eyes, but you can see her smirk. The hero goes from scared to embarrassed to excited after how the maid handled them. The sketches go along with Jehta's original microfiction, which reads as follows: "A princess' maid easily overpowering the shrunken hero she found tied up in her mistress' panty drawer, scooping them up and manhandling aside their limbs with her white-gloved fingers to get a good look at them before giggling that her princess summoned a good one this time." A pencil sketch based on a microfiction by Dust and Divine. The drawing shows a young man, a sorcery student, at his room with a big book showing some arcane symbol and writing and a candle. The student isn't paying attention to the book, as he's focused on his little vampire fairy pet. The perspective makes it so the hand of the man is very close, especially his forefinger. The vampire fairy is biting the massive fingertip, sinking her little fangs in it. There's a close-up showing the fairy's lips and teeth. The fangs have punctured the skin, with little drops of blood coming from the insignificant wounds. And on top of the fingertip there's a little figure, too small even for the fairy to notice, watching with horror their imminent doom.

CONTROL ""The WIRM regulates your thoughts and actions for you, anticipating attacks and keeping you on target." Sam felt the tendrils play along their back and shuddered. The Weapon Input Response Module was standard practise for all mech pilots, but they had never gotten used to it. "I dunno doc," Sam replied. "I just don't like the sound of this thing controlling my actions." "It doesn't control your actions," the doctor responded, and Sam groaned as the pain flared, the WIRM's legs digging into their flesh and fusing with their spinal cord. "It just helps you react." "But what if I need to retreat?" Sam asked, but the words felt thick as the WIRM's teeth clamped into the base of their skull. They felt their body go limp, but it was held upright like a marionette on strings. "I can assure you," the doctor said, "the thought of retreat will never enter your mind." Sam felt their mouth pulled taut in a rictus of a smile. "Gee, doc, that sounds great!" they found their voice saying. "I can't wait to get out there and fight for The Cause!"".

She called the clinic half an hour ago to say that she was having contractions, and we instructed her to come in. While waiting for her arrival, her labor support Doula Kalin and I set up the labor room: turning down the lights, turning on soft, meditative music, and placing a few drops of lavender oil in the aroma therapy diffuser. Clarissa and her husband, Matt, come in holding hands. When she first walks in, she doesn’t appear to be in labor. Her hair is neatly tied back in a ponytail in her face is relaxed. Suddenly, she stops walking and squeezes Matt‘s hand for the 10 second duration of the contraction. "It’s been like this for the past hour," she tells me "I thought that it would be a good idea to call." I tell her she was right. This seems like early labor, but given that Clarissa has already given birth to two children, the last one only two years ago, it could progress quickly. I bring them to the labor room where Kalin greets them help with that change into a gown and get Matt settled into a chair next to the bed. Clarissa hasn’t been sleeping well lately at first,"
