Reminds me a bit of one of my favorite SF movies in recent yrs, "Black Road". Outside of a CGI border checkpoint, the film is shot in pretty much an unaltered PNW, only future tech is the hero's AI buddy, a wirehead punk, & the villain who has adv. tech that comes of as magic or psychic powers.

This is the biggest gas payoff I think I've ever had. It's way better than I thought it would be and I got it cheap. But I also love that wirehead basilisk which was also 100% worth it.
