It's always a thrill to see the northern lights, and especially when you're staying right next to Vestrahorn. Unfortunately the moon was full and way too bright, and the lights weren't over the mountain, but it was still special :)

A massive swirl of green northern lights sweeps across the sky, although the intensity is dampened by the very bright full moon illuminating the scene. There is some light scattered cloud that looks a little pink. Below are some frosty sand dunes just visible, snowy mountains low on the horizon, and the edge of the nearby mountain on the right hand side.

A tiny touch of sunrise light on the western peaks of Vestrahorn before it was lost behind the cloud and the glow disappeared. The touch of frost was still nice though.

Some frosty black sand dunes with orange (dead) grasses. The dunes are covered in a light frost, and some are rippled. In the distance are the easterly peaks of Vestrahorn and Brunnhorn just visible.
