Charlie pointing out that not everyone shares the same point of view 😂 It's the thing I love about this conference. #UKSGForum2025

Interesting perspective about changing keywords and metadata for public rather than research use. In a fashion digital collection nothing came up when you looked for blue 😂

two women standing next to each other with one saying " but what you don t know is that that sweater is not just blue
Alt: Gif from Devil wears Prada "but what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis; it's actually cerulean"

Presentation of the day #UKSGForum2025 has to go to @littlebutfierce.bsky.social for her phenomenal film noir tinged take on systematic reviews. I have a new standard to aspire to in my future presentations now - look at these slides 😍😍😍😍

The crowd here at @uksg.bsky.social Forum is lively and engaging. And it had been impressive seeing their enthusiasm towards #participation in their projects. We are hopefully making progress on #community #engagement in scholarly communication. #UKSGForum2025

After coffee we've got UWTSD talking about AI : we're all in this together (Disney refernce - High School Musical?)

Starting off the schedule by talking about "Discovering the hidden insight between data points".

Starting off by stating that AI and technological changes aren't going to replace people - we still need humans for stories, context, unheard voices.

Apparently people get really nervous talking about systematic review.

Can start to cost a lot in terms of ILL both demand and financial!

Also, copyright. ILL says its for individual use, but systematic review is shared.

(The slides for this are amazing)

Nice to be here in Brighton for the #UKSGForum2025! Looking forward to a great programme of talks and to catching up with @uksg.bsky.social members

Was exciting reading the article about the project, wishing I could take part in it. It'd continue to be a relevant educational tool for #OA for the vast majority of academia's key audience - students. Could also be applied for business models, etc. #ScholComm.

Halfway through, and I've seen great projects by libraries and institutions here at #UKSGForum2025, the spectrum of community engagement being deployed is staggering but shoiwing positive move nonetheless.

Post coffee break and a very sugary but delicious cake, the next talk is @kirahopkins.bsky.social from @copim.bsky.social

Building an info hub around open access books. It was massively overwhelming, so decided to create a hub of the existing resources

Weeding based on usage data and vibes bc no reading list system.

I understand that sort of weeding - a lot of our use is hidden so we also weed based on vibes 😂

But as also mentioned, when it's a small collection you can know it really well.

We're getting started with #UKSGForum2025 - I'll try and do some live posting, but will probably get distracted half way through the day!

Already had a chance to catch up with some folks and learn about some new developments in the sector.

Great post highlighting the challenges libraries are facing and the diverse and immensely valuable support they provide across research institutions and beyond (which I know from experience researchers and others may not be aware of)
