This cultural linguistic hypothesis of a symbolic toponymy that contains the Alef hieratic character related to the Faiyum's dual Dja specificity allows us an independent reading of a hypothetical first consonant.

Also, to be scrupulously fair, this book has much more Spanish vocabulary in it than Massachusetts shibboleths, and to the best of my knowledge, the narrator's Spanish seems to be doing the job. If I have to sacrifice accuracy in one area, New England toponymy is probably the better one to let go!

Love that scene, fab image indeed.

I’m similar to you in learning Scottish Gaelic too and love how the toponymy and indeed hydronymy of landscape names is so visceral and descriptive of the appearance of the features or bodies of water.

Over here we contrast ɾ, ɺ, and l, but the phonotactics of which one goes where are really complex: [ɾ] is the rare one, mostly a positional allophone of ɺ that happens intervocalically immediately after or before a long/stressed vowel… but in toponymy the contrast is with -l [ɺ].

I’m afraid I’m just a toponymy “autist”.
Someone on here once read my posts and then asked, "so are you a trains autist or a numbers autist" and I had to be like, "I'm not autistic?" Bc a lot of ppl kind of just assume I am for some reason.
