My birthday is in the winter, so I’ve been gifting myself summer/spring trips on top of winter staycations for the past 5 years.

I don’t think I’ll ever stop; I‘m basically celebrating my birthday twice.

british staycations are more expensive than flying into continental europe. that’s actually MAD considering UK weather is absolute shit.

Domestic Growth: Domestic leisure travel grew by roughly 1.9% in 2025, as many Americans chose "staycations" or local travel over international trips.

Since I can't really travel far for who knows how long I may as well take some time off and have one of those gay staycations soon

On staycations you always still have all the chores (scooping, laundry, dishes, etc). I forgot how nice it is to have absolutely nothing I have to do, eeee!

The closest local protest is tomorrow, so I'll check out Seaside & share pics

Was wondering why people want to live on the beach-erosion??

It occurs to me that AC 2025 was the only vacation that I've had in a year and a half, not even any overnight "staycations" anywhere, and this could be part of why I feel so stir-crazy. Probably not all of it—but part of it.

Hotels: a) use for staycations; b) put up family when in town; c) Can drive across country staying in 5 star hotels; d) pay my own airfare to French Riveria stay in a hotel penthouse suite for 3 months;

I rarely have too much annual leave. I like to take days for myself pretty regularly and also knowing I have a few small trips/staycations to take. I don’t really do the leave hoarding thing. I’m depressed and wish I wasn’t working; I take my time off! 😆

By this logic, most of my weekends are staycations
January 7, 2026 at 12:50 PM
My family abroad. I’m here at least 4 times a year and I don’t really do anything while I’m visiting. I want to go to other places, maybe do some staycations in the UK, but I’d also like to visit Portugal and Dennark.

So here’s to 2026! Hopefully some positive things coming my way 🤞

We should be transitioning to a no oil economy anyway. Instead of flying to Rome, use the money for solar. Instead of an annual vacation, have staycations and save the monies for an EV. Recycle, re-use, reduce.

Guess I’m not taking any staycations after all 😮‍💨🤬
