Good luck with that. One of the main reasons China won the EV war is cheaper batteries, since batteries are a huge cost component of electrical cars. I suspect China also has a huge advantage in batteries for Grids, especially CATL's new Sodium Ion battery which seems better for Grids than Lithium

Agree… during its heyday, they dominated in the high end with a premium product. With China in the market, it will be hard to compete with the likes of BYD on the lower end. Doesn’t help with EM in charge

I don't know a whole lot about this but from what I understand, Sodium-ion batteries are better and cheaper than Lithium-ion so I would assume that would be a cheaper path to EV conversion and certainly a lot greener of a battery.

Yes, I’ve been following Sodium-Ion battery development for about 18 months now. I suspect it might be one of the reasons Detroit decided to pull the plug on their EV rollouts. Why needlessly expose yourself to safety & cold weather complaints when better, cheaper battery tech is just 2-3 years off?
