Meta has indefinitely delayed the international launch of the Ray-Ban Display. The smart glasses debuted in the U.S. in September with an expansion planned for early 2026 in Canada, the UK, France and Italy. In a blog post about its larger suite of CES news, Meta attributed the delay to “unprecedented demand and limited inventory” for the AI glasses that have resulted in product waitlists that “extend well into 2026.” Therefore, the company says it will “continue to focus on fulfilling orders in the US while we re-evaluate our approach to international availability.”

Swiggy on Tuesday said its quick commerce platform Instamart has partnered with Young India Skills University (YISU) to launch a skill-based academic programme aimed at building careers in the quick commerce sector and training over 5,000 youths in Telangana. The partnership has been formalised through a memorandum of understanding between Instamart and YISU, which was established under the Young India Skills University Telangana Act 2024, the company said in a statement.

Nigeria’s average 4G download speeds climbed to 33Mbps by the end of 2025, reflecting years of sustained investment in network infrastructure, fibre expansion and regulatory reforms, Aminu Maida, executive vice chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), said in a January 1, 2026 newsletter. The improvement puts Nigeria ahead of many African countries, where average internet speeds often fall below 20 Mbps, and signals a meaningful upgrade in the quality of experience available to millions of users, even as challenges around affordability and rural access persist.

Faculty CEO Marc Warner is set to take over as Accenture’s chief technology officer. Consultancy giant Accenture has announced plans to acquire Faculty, a UK-based firm providing AI services to major global businesses, governments and public institutions. The acquisition is set to expand Accenture’s AI capabilities, which the company has heavily invested in recently. Terms of the purchase were undisclosed.

Just as Singapore homes are starting to sign up for ultrafast 10Gbps broadband services, Singtel is pushing ahead with a technical trial of 50Gbps fibre broadband services which promise fives faster speeds than today, at least on paper. The country’s largest telecom operator says the new services, when widely available in three to five years, will enable new uses such as augmented and virtual reality experiences as well as AI-enabled homes and businesses.

Dell brings the XPS name back to life with their top-of-the-line laptops, starting with refreshed versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch models that just debuted at CES 2026, and followed later in the year with an even smaller 13-inch XPS notebook.
